talentless

well I am calling it finished at last. A nice kit but there should me some ordinance in the box. Not a single missile just the tip tanks. criminal. i have tried (badly ) to shop out the stand from some pics as it is very distracting (as is the background, sorry). I have noticed one of the AoA probes is gone. ill put it back if i ever find it :-( . I may add some indoor shots to a rfi  post when I get around to them. thanks for all the support and for extending the GB so I could finish it! . last pic is it in the case (old fishtank) next to a lightning done in alclads.

click the pics for larger pics or browse my flikr for full size ones.

Hey there, tcepilot, never heard back from you on joining the group build.  I'd like to jump in with a 1/72 scale F4B Phantom, and possibly a 1/48th scale Phantom, Skyraider, or Thunderchief.....still undecided on those.......

2022 New Year's Resolution:  Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!!  Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge???  Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!

Stunning work! If there wasn't that rod of clear plastic on the 2nd pic, someone could think it's a real jet.

i was dreading it but having a spare set of legs in case it went pear shaped i thought i'd try. it was easier than i thought. thje legs are so well made that its easy to cut them up as required .mind you i havent quite finished it so better not get too carried away :-o. still time for a disaster.

That looks great!  I've often thought of doing a Phantom this way as if it is taking off.

It does look good and ill probsbly use it on a car or bike. But not for a couple of wing tanks. Reckon ill use mr hobby fine silver or some alclad flat aluminium or white aluminium. I have msnaged to stip it back to resin snd have reprimed them already. The tanks seem to vary a lot so i have a lot of wiggle room on the finish.

OOh, a chrome-coated plane!!! I actually like the look of it (even though it's a bit too shiny) . What are you planning to use instead?

Kind of almost looks like it was chrome or nickel plated.

these panel lines, handles and rivets are provided as a decal too, to go over the star one, but i think it looks better with the decal cut and pierced instead.

My favourite part, the decals are going on. the foil and weathering were sealed in with future first and will be resealed when decaling is finished.

what it looked like prior to papering, future and decals. I wasn't sure it was going to look ok.

IMG_1316 by omgpainful, on Flickr

but  now they are going on I feel better about the foil finish.
