Well after some sidetracking over the past few weeks, I was able to resum some work on my F-104 today. Based upon the photo here,

I saw that the RHAW gear that I added had some pretty prominent scopes under the windscreen. So I scratchbuilt something resembling them and added them in place.

Well yesterday I forgot to photograph the wheel and speed brake wells... so here...

today I masked that off and painted the lower surface Humbrol camouflage Grey 36622

and I applied a new coat of Flat Black on the improved IP hood. I also hollowed out the screen of the RHAW scope with my Dremel, but it did not show up here well...

Glad you are still going with 104 its really starting to take shape and im looking forward to seeing it finished

Thank you sir. Yes it is certainly taking shape now. I am feeling the urge to rush and get it done, but then I know it will not come out properly if I do....

Good to see I'm not the only one laboring along.

I got some decals on the F-4G and some more stuff painted.  I also managed to break of the fuel dump again.  I think this was the third or fourth time.

Nice to see I am not the only one here working as well ;-) I am really liking your F-4G- especially in that experimental camo. Very unique!

Im not working but ill keep coming back to see how your planes are going. They are both real cool.

I have the tan of the upper camo applied now. Taking a break from airbrushing at the moment. I am doing two planes and this is a time consuming process...

I know what you mean.  I just started painting an A-37B in SEA camo.

Before I started today's airbrushing session I finished up work on the IP hood, RHAW scopes, and reflector sight glass

and then it was on to the upper surface colors- Tan 30219 followed by Green 34102 before I ran out of daylight. My workspace light are not the best here so I will not paint tonite, but finish it up Monday I think. Busy day ahead tomorrow.

I am waiting for the humidity to drop here today after last nite's rainstorm before I resume airbrushing. So today I worked on the ejection seat. The Aires C-2 seat is a real gem. I just need to get a wash applied to make the details really pop.

Gotta luv those aires seats. If your kit seat was as bad as mine then ANYTHING is better. Your one certainly looks the biz

68, I cant say enough good stuff about that seat. It is a huge improvement over the kit part. I have been brainstorming the past few hours as to how to do the wash.

TL, and the seat came in pairs, so I have one more for my Hasegawa F-104C! I love these resin bang seats- such a huge simple improvement to almost every cockpit.

Today's update. After looking at several photos of Starfighters in Vietnam I saw that there was a bit of variation in the camo pattern regarding the medium green 34102. So today I went back and touched that up before I added the Dark Green 34079. Now I just need to go back and touch up where there was overspray.

Next week on my days off I need to do some touch up in the speed brake wells wher the toilet tissue masking kept popping out under overspray airflow after drying

Well my F-104 is officially sidelined as of now. During todays airbrush session, I accidently broke off the pitot tube and launched it into neverwhere. I can not find it anywhere.... grrrrr... that will teach me to try to work on two models at the same time on my damned workbench. So I just ordered a replacement part from Revell. I hope it does not take too long to get here.

Dang Stick!  Sorry to hear that.........I sent a lot of small bits to Neverwhere too!!

I was so pissed... I tore apart the surrounding area, but there were just too many places that it might have gone.... not to mention that it was in the late afternoon and light in there is not the best away from my immediate work area...

Yeah, and it always seems to be the 'fliers' that are the most difficult to replicate that go flying.....truly aggravating!!  Arrgghhhh!!!!!

Nice progress on the 104.

Nothing new on the F-4-G but here is a shot of and academy A-37B I'm building in 1/72.  Its really a nice little kit.

That is looking real good there 68! I have a 1/48 on in the stash to tackle one day. I look forward to seeing yours finished in here soon.
