Sorry, I'm progressing and not taking pictures. The whole not walking things sucks. I painted the Tiger MM Rust, and I am now painting it Afrika Braun 1942. I'll try to post my work over the weekend, but then again I wanted it done a week or two ago, sigh...
Looking nice, Bish!
Becky, I am not sure when Sub is going to be able to get back to you. I think he may be away on duty some where. The GB is still open, so if your build is from 1943, I think it will be ok.
Here's a small up date on my Me 109. Got the wings and fuselage together and the white band and tail painted. I should have the undersides painted this week some time.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Hi,
Can I join this Group Build with a 1/32 Spitfire Mk. IX (Poland, Skalski Circus, 1943)?? I've just started this kit, and I'm looking for a group build I can fit this in.
Never seen one of their 1:48 vehicles in grey plastic before, or is it someone else's molds like that 88mm gun?
Tony, nice work.
Clemen's, good to hear you finally got your bits.
I do seem to recall sub saying he might have to go away towards the end of the year, but he was defiantly planning a 44GB.
That's good to hear Clemens. It will soon be time for 1944!! And I got a Yak 9 with a ton of AM practically leaping out of the box....or...a Croatian 109G-14AS..??hmmmm
I'll join the fun as well in a few weeks. I finally got an email notification about my Airacobra spinner. They sent it on it's way to me (after more than 3 damn months of waiting!!!!).
looks good Tony, looking forward to the paint. I hope Sub comes back soon.
Yes, it's the 1/48 Tamiya Sd Kfz 232.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Is that the Tamiya 1:48 kit?
I've just about finished construction on my 1/48 Sd Kfz 232 8-Rad for this GB, the wheels will be attached after painting. Not a bad little kit. Camo will be a green pattern over sand.
Yes bish, I'm doing a Tiger for this GB and a Panzer IV for the D-Day GB, I don't think the IV is that bad, but combine the two and its 48 wheels to paint both sides twice (once red for the primer, then the base coat).
Well there you go, hase didn't make it up. I knew some German aircraft had a Mickey Mouse ninsignia, but not one like that, and as it has no number, that made me think it was made up.
That second pic is one of a number I have seen of White 9. It seems to have been a popular subject. I believe that photo was taken at Maleme on Crete. And thanks for posting it. It is bigger than the one I have and helps answer a question. The decal instructions call for RLM 02 under the 9 and the white vertical bar at the back. But I couldn't confirm that. From the looks of it, it does have those patches. Thanks again.
Here is the box side aircraft. I was getting it confused with the mount of another flyer. But this guy was a 17 victory ace, Emil Klade.

Bish It is a very old kit. But still decent enough with some extra goodies thrown in. Stik, I was never sure if that was a real scheme or something they had made up, as I haven't come across it. Do you know what unit it belong to.

The Mickey Mouse 109G was the mount of Capt Horst Carganico when he was in command of II.JG5. He would be credited with a total of 60 aerial victories, including 6 against the Western Allies, where he died in May 1944 in a crash.

ww2psycho Well after painting the wheels for the two german tanks I'm doing, I think I'm done with german tanks for a bit, takes awhile to paint these things!

Is this your first German armour.
Yes, those are noth "aces mounts" The Mickey Mouse aircraft was a guy who flew in Northern Russia.
Oh got it. The box art is alittle ancient, lol. Micky Mouse on the side and a green clover badge of some sort?
Thanks guys.
Nathan, I haven't found any pics online of the one I am doing, but it's the one on the side of the box
But Hasegawa misses out the white tail and rudder. Also I wasn't to happy with the kit decals, especially the white 9, so that why I am using a set of AM decals.
There are quite a few photo's of this aircraft in some of the books I have, it belongs to JG 27 and operated from Greece and Crete. I do have a few more 109's in the stash, in fact I just got tow more today. I am sure I can fit another one in soon.
Nice work Bish. What scheme you going with? So now 109s on the shelf yet? Well in my experience after the first one comes about another 10 or so more, so get ready for the addiction...
Great looking cockpit, Bish.
I'm not that shocked by it. I have not a single 109 in my display case and only a single 109 kit in my whole stash. I like the Fw 190 way more...
Thanks. I am just glad to finally being getting a 109 on the shelf. can you believe I don't have one. Shocking.
Looking really nice, Bish!
I finally have my first update on the Me 109. I have only been working on it two days a week, as I have been concentrating on my He 111. So progress isn't much.
I started off with the wings as I painted the wheel wells while I was doing the inside of the He 111. I just added PE well's and radiator exit flap and dropped the landing flap.
After that I got the Aires resin bits painted RLM 66
Then painted the detail bits and added the Eduard PE before putting it together.
Then got it fitted into the fuselage along with the Eduard IP and a set of resin exhausts. I still have to add the control lever, I have ordered some resin ones which should be here tomorrow or Wed.
Next up will be sanding the seams before putting the two together.
Hi Sub,
I had perviously mentioned that I would do a Wildcat for this GB, but since I feel like building some more armor, I'd like to change my entry to this :
I bought it yesterday, started cutting parts off the sprues last night. One of the options in the kit is for a vehicle that operated during Kursk, so that fits well into 1943.
OK I got the right color today, sure doesn't look like the color I would have thought would have been used.
