John, I'm afraid that is not completely true...

My current projects:

  • 5 Fw 190s (all Eduard kits)
  • 2 Thunderbolts (Tamiya)
  • B-25 (HK Models)
  • King Tiger (Dragon)

And I am currently hosting 3 GBs at the same time (NMF GB, Carrier GB, German Arrows GB)

I still have to answer your question: Yes, I DEFINITELY lost my mind Stick out tongue

Allen,

You will love this kit,Toast  I'm just finishing up one myself,  I think I have some pictures posted in this GB recently. There's really nothing I can complain about.  Must be good since I just started my second 190 for this build and Clemen's must be rubbing off on me I'm contemplating a third one!!!  On top of the D0-335 I just started in another GB.Surprise

Help! Help!  I need Styrene anonymous intervention!Confused

JOE RIX

Keep in mind Doug that a couple of these have 2 props. The old "Two birds with one stone" concept.

And some have 4!  C-130....

Hey Mustang,

I'm in the intro post. I joined in March but this is the first chance I've had to get at my build.

Thanks for the kind words so far everyone!

Chanter

Hi all.  I was finally able to get started on my 190.  Following all of the excellent builds here has given me a lot of inspiration and tips that I'll hopefully be able to incorporate.

I am building a Tamiya A3 which apparently is a nice easy build.  Sounds good to me!

Good to have you here Chanter! I'll get you entered in on the intro post. Friggin cool!

I don't need no sleep. All I need is plastic-glue fumes and something to keep me busy (like 5 Eduard 190s) Wink

First... Allen... Good to have you here! Very nice work and a good kit for your first GB!

Secondly... Right you are my friend Joe! See how these things kinda just fall into place?(ha)

Thirdly... Clemens... When do you sleep my brother? (ha) Just kidding, But although I was half joking it would be a pretty cool GB, Flying cannons of the Luftwaffe. Like Joe(mustang) said, these are only short of having tracks!

Really nice work, Allen! May I ask you on how you painted that cockpit (and also how long it too you to do so)?

Allen, That is a marvelous start. Your cockpit is very well done. Do you have some seat harnesses to throw in there? As far as painting a whitewash I'm afraid that I have no experience with that. I will defer suggestions to the folks here who are vastly more knowledgeable on that technique. Please ask all the questions you require as that is exactly what a GB is all about. It is excellent to have you in here with us and I am definitely looking forward to some more progress photos as well as some thought provoking inquiries. Excellent work Allen.

I ordered some EagleCals decals and I plan to do the JG-51 winter scheme as I have never done mottling.  This is where my questions will be coming, as I attempt to do a passable whitewash job (will hairspray be required?)

I started the cockpit. This is one area I really want to improve in and will keep trying to outdo myself with each build.  For now, I'm pretty happy.

That's it for now.  I'm looking forward to finally getting into my first Group Build, posting as I go and hopefully not asking too many redundant questions.

Regards,

Allen

Doug: How about a "Flying Guns" GB? It would involve every aircraft with a gun of 30mm or bigger...

These things fall just short of needed tracks for landing gear!!

Kind of. Just look at the tires of the Ju-88 I posted... They seem to be weighted quite a bit...

Nice picture, Joe! I have to get me one of those dragon kits as well. They are on sale at my LHS, so maybe...

How about this one? Is that an 88mm gun? I heard they tried to mount them on the Ju-88...

I have a couple of those Dragon 88's in the stash. I hear they can be a bear to build. Cant wait to tear into one though.

And then you have this beauty Ju 88P-1 with the 75mm BK75. I have the 1/48 Dragon kit of this aircraft which will be a sweet build.

That's the BK 3,7 right? I have a 129 built with the Mk 103 and it looks sweet! The 3,7 is almost comical it is so large.

You have that one as well? I have 2 brass barrels for this beauty. One for the 410 and one for the 262 (HobbyBoss kit)

That 5cm gun on the 262 is amazing also! I have the brass version of that one in 1/48 scale for my Meng 410 kit.

I never thought the guys at Dragon are good with numbers, as they tend to screw up parts numbers a lot Big SmileWink

No matter what gun it is., it is mean! That's the really important thing about it...
