Here is the first coat of camo on the 335.  Doing the second now.  Man, the splinter camo IS NOT as easy as it may look!

Thanks to Bish I'll put this in the right place.....The DO-335 is my favorite aircraft of all time!! I built this one about a year ago, It's 1/24 scale 22.5" wingspan and 23" long made of paper. I got it at Ecardmodels.com, it's a download and print at home, model comes in 1/33 scale but I enlarged to 1/24...hope you guys don't mind some paper around here.......LOL......Rich

Looking nice, Chris! I'll get her posted on the front page later today!

Eagle, you still get the badge. I just won't make an official extension which means no new builds and no new entries. Everyone with a started project is allowed to finish it here and gets a badge of course.

Awesome!  Thank you sir!  I almost did it, but the painting was too much to try and do in a short time.  My apologies.

Looks like you made some very nice progress there, and a lot of it too!

Thank you!  Once I got the wife settled in and got back from some training with the NEXRAD, I jumped on it and was really happy with the ease of construction with this Tamiya kit!  Have had a blast with it!  It is really a great kit.

Sorry mate, but no extensions. Everyone who started their build already is more than welcome to finish it though. I just won't do an official extension...

No worries my friend.  I can respect that.  Can't hurt to ask.  Just feel weird not getting the badge.  The GB is awesome!  Many thanks for hosting it!

Thank you SS!  It is a really great kit!  I highly recommend it to anyone!  More pics to come tonight!

I completely understand about life getting in the way!  My wife is on yet another chemo set and the kids are just being kids!  So no worries!

Hey, maybe a little extension would work for everyone!?  30 days maybe?  Just a thought.

Thanks again SS!  And thanks for hosting a great GB!

Looking great, Eagle!

Sadly I wont be able to even start working on my 335 before the deadline because life got in the way earlier when I intended to build her. My sincere apologies for not building with you guys... Sad

Hey everyone!  Have not forgotten about the GB!  Lots of life stuff going on.  But here is some pics of the 335 I'm doing.  "Should" be done by tomorrow.  I did more last night, just forgot to take pics.  They will be posted tonight I hope!

Loving the Tamiya kit!  This is my first Tamiya kit and I must say I like it!  The fit is super!  No issues with that at all.  Some of the colors they call out for the cockpit stuff I'm not too sure about, but hey, I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.  Having a blast with the 335 and doing my first Tamiya kit is really exciting!  Thanks for checking her out!  More to come tonight!

Thanks PJ. Converting figures is something I have been getting into recently. Its really difficult to get decent poses, especially for ground crew. I have every German 72nd figure set there is, and even then its not easy. In fact, the two ground crew on this dio, one is from a USAAF set and one from an RAF set, they were the nearest I could find to the poses I wanted.

I have read that story as well. I believe they were aircraft from 3 Sqn. Theres also an account of a group of P-51's spotting one but that also made off at high speed.

That is one great looking paint scheme Bish. Don't quite understand why the Luftwaffe didn't use schemes like this on such an uncommon aircraft instead of the boring 'splinter' scheme, specially so late in the war. The base and figures look great too. I received some figures from a couple of the lads here and I'm still trying to make some use of them by changing some of the poses and incorporating some Eduard figures into the setting but have been busy with a couple of commissions.

I read somewhere that the closest the Arrow got to combat was when one ran into a group of 3 or 4 Typhoons which could not keep up with the Arrow leaving them far behind within seconds of interception.  This was one awesome aircraft!

Very original paint scheme Bish and really enjoy the ground crew scene.

Thanks Chris. I do like to do Luft 46 builds as operational aircraft, so even when I get to the A-1, I plan to avoid the 70/71 scheme.

Bish that is awesome!   That camo scheme really came out great and is a nice departure from the usual 71/2/3 schemes.  Gives me some inspiration to finish mine.
