I really like these figures. their facial expressions and poses, but especially the calm commander observing and I'm sure directing his crew.

since this was a gift and, no surprise, i already have one i decided to build this OOB, learn the tricks, and build the next one with pe and open hatches. didn't finish the interior of the driver's compartment or super detailed the engine. everything is just sitting there so i can figure out what to paint before assembly. the frame in the front was not as parallel as i thought so some surgery to fit was in order. still not going to sxe much on the inside. this think builds more like a truck than a tank. the 4th pic is a 75mm PAK frrom 5 years ago i cleaned up and oil washed. it's there for size.

Garzonh: Yeah great job- I'd swear she was the real thing!

they are some good shots. a suggestion would be to get a bit of dirt to "hide" the bottom run of the track in the first pic so there isn't a gap. easy enough to touch up in photoshop. if you notice on most of my finished pics my bases are rutted since they are generic and the rut hides the track not sitting 100% on the ground.

the second and third pics are great. i like the way the 3rd pic empahsises the barrel length and they look good with the blue sky. the 2nd pic with the sunlight and the shadows could easily pass for a shot of a real vehicle. your weathering continues to grow on me every time i look at it

sometimes i will take a ground eye view of a ww2 vehicle, make it gray scale, blur it a tad and add some grain and see if folks think it's real.

work on the beast continues. a lot of PE work today. build is fast approaching the "looks like crap" stage but doesn't feel like it. had 2 pieces with complex folds and not good instructions so i made a practice piece from a 3x5 card and worked it until i figured it out and the pe fold went fine. probably sniffed too much cya today.

Yep, definitely it looks messy, but paint gets everything tied.

At the other end of the spectrum, here's my progress photo's of the 1/48 Wespe. This one is taking some building, I'm pinching a few parts from the spares box and Tamiya kits to try and improve it, but there is no etch available.

I made minor progress on my LVTA4.  The interior of the turret is painted blue with the basket white and the exterior is nearing its turn for a coat of faded blue and Beach Red Three stripes.  The second image shows what has been taking time away from my LVTA4, Dragon’s HMMWV just finished and Ace’s MTLB nearly finished.

Great going, Deattilio! May I ask what shade of "ochre" you used on the MT-LB? I've not been able to figure out what the Russians used for their desert camo...

The MTLB is a brew of colors and coats I kept tinkering with until it looked OK to me.  The base is 4:1 of Radome Tan and Skin Tone Shadow (Model Master Acryl) which still looks very light but was overcoated with an oil wash of Burnt Sienna and followed with a dot filter of Titanium White, Burnt Umber and Phthalo Green.  It has turned out slightly darker than I planned but, next to my NATO green vehicles it will be good enough for my shelf.

Thanks -- so it's an "eyeball special" shade! I think that's what I'll end up with too!
