Put the primer coat down on the M40, found a couple of misaligned parts and gaps, guess that's the point of a primer coat eh?

I have added my track, filled some seams I missed before and primed them and its off for another round of OD.

It does look good, and one of my favourite vehicles too.

I've sprayed the camo on my Wespe. I don't have a photo of the model yet, but the scheme I've gone for is the top one of these profiles.

I still need to add the exhaust and do the resin link and length tracks, which does look to be a chore, then weather it down a bit.

which is why i usually do warwheels though i do have a JGSDF TYPE 87 SPAA in the duck hunter and japanese 3 GBs. and a GRILLE and a D9R  in the queue and a PZ-IIZ ready to prime and a ....... i like the 3rd pattern best. i think the "camo" on the sprocket and idler is shading and not real camo paint. while i will extend camo to the wheel hubs (1 color only) i rarely do it with WW2 stuff since everything below the fenders is dried dirt or mud anyway.

i intend to get the fiddly PE on the "turret" of DANA and the EVERYTHING primed and base coated (cab, gun assy, rear compartment). suspension and wheels are painted and pin washed so only some weathering is left for them.

Yeah 1071 Clemens, I heard that King William rode around on it whilst he was thinking about the Domesday book. It might have been handy at Hastings too, King Harald might have been shot in the eye by a Wespe, rather than an arrow.

Got the tracks fixed, and starting on some more of the detail painting

Chris, I've just remembered building that Priest back when it was a Matchbox kit, must have been the late seventies I guess. Don't think I'd hit my teens yet. I still haven't built anothery.

Here's my Wespe, completed. It's the Fuman/Bandai kit dated from 1971, with exhaust, wheels, headlights and a few other bits from a Tamiya Panzer II kit. I abandoned the resin tracks (and I'm not proud of it) as they required an enormous amount of clean up, and were brittle, not a good combination for me. So, the tracks are the rubber bands provided in the kit, tied or glued in place to try and hold the shape.

I like the scheme, makes me want another but I might be due for a more modern kit next time.

Well done, Tony! Sometimes those old kits can be a lot of fun and you've certainly done this one justice. For myself, I really love early vintage Tamiya armour, they build so easy and make such a great canvas for finishing skills.

I got up early but found out I had three hours to kill before the WWII started on TV.

Bench time, beside the wife was still asleep.

Finished the M-43s back porch assembly.

Next up is getting some color on back there.

Tony: love the Wespe....nice jog on a rough kit!  I'm really digging that camo scheme, too.

latest on DANA. this thing is a beast, not the build though there are some usual iffy areas, just big and heavy. i could kill someone with the back end and airbrush the evidence. need to mask off the front and prime it and then ready to mask off the chassis and base coat everything. when i do that i will base coat inside areas on gun and turret before assembly, left off the PE tiedowns. just too small and they had to in the second picture the frame looks bowed but it isn't. the second build will be much smoother.
