Bish: the Sgt York is almost complete....just minor work on the tracks/sprockets and adding some markings.

My M-16 is almost ready for some paint. I only have to build the turret (still waiting for some .50 barrels from RB). The Flakpanzer is still waiting for some interior paint before I can move on.

Just have the cab of my SA-2 truck and some decals on the missile and that will do it for me. Been spending all my time on my build for the heroes GB so it kinda got put on the back burner for a bit.

Oh I remember building that 88 kit when I was a kid. Big Smile

Well I went thru a bunch of this thread late last nite and seeing that the deadline is nearing I pulled out my Chicoms and their Dshk to get back to work- airbrushing today.

I added a few more pieces of stretched sprue into the sight rings and then airbrushed on a coat of Tamiya NATO Black for the base color

then I airbrushed Gunze Flesh where needed on the crew

so of course I had to take a photo of them in place with the gun so far

I will start on the brush painting tomorrow.

Yes, I am juggling several projects for GBs at once right now.... put one thing aside to dry and pull out another to work on.

LOL! Discipline? I feel like I am all over the place sometimes... ;-) On the one hand I feel that I am making the most of my bench time. On the other hand I feel that having several projects going at once does not let me really concentrate on any one of them.

That's why I stopped even trying. I found I was just doing one build and the others were just left. When I did get to them, it means clearing one lot off the bench and getting the rest out. I think it takes longer to do several builds at once than one at a time.

I think you are right Bish. But with all these dang Group Builds going that I want to partake in, and their timespans... temptation, temptation...

Well last night after my last posts I started base color painting on this project.

Vallejo Russian Green on the tripod and ammo can

and the figures Humbrol 84 Mid Stone pants, 187 Dark Stone jacket, 72 Khaki Drill shoes and cap, 62 Leather belt, Field Drab cap lining, and 32 Dark Grey shoe soles

I think that I need to raid my spares bin to hang some gear off the straps on their torsos that have nothing there...Hmm

I know, that's why I am cutting down, at least to how many I am committed to. I won't commit now until I am ready to start building.

Well, that's the plan.

That's looking really good. Defiantly needs some kit on those guys.

is that regular Vallejo Russian Green or tyhe AV version? what do you thin it with to airbrush?

i too am way overcommitted in GBs nit to mention the other stuff i just want to build. this may be the spring of serious stash thinning and topic focus.one of my friends calls me WHEELS because i do warwheels and trucks.

my club annual contest doesn't allow anything that has won in any other contest which means i best finish the 6 models in progress since evrything else has won something somewhere. and 5 of those fit in GBs.

as of now i have only 2 kits on order at LHS 1/24 UNIMOG RALLY and 1/72 SS-25 TOPOL ICBM. the EUROPEAN TRAM finally made it across the pacific  that just begs for a T-34/85 sitting next to it.

haven't been active the past 8 weeks; combination of some minor annoying health things and a general building slump.

That's their regular Russian Green color. Model Color line, color # 894. I shook the heck out of for quite some (while sipping on a cool refreshing beverage) and then hand brushed it with a red sable brush. It was still glossy last nite when I went to bed, but flat as can be this morning. Just the way that I like it. For handbrushing on a flat black primed surface I am very happy with the results.

Ok guys, now in the last month of the GB. I know Eagle has been working on his 88 but has had a few internet issues, so hopefully he can catch up.

Josiah, no worries, hopefully you can find a bit of time this month to finish off.

Look forward to seeing a rush of completed builds this month.

Well, still got 2 months for that one. But I know the feeling, I am going to be pushed to complete all my GB builds this year, I really need to get off here and cracking on with the Panther.
