Welcome everyone! The Duck Hunter GB is officially open!  I'm co-hosting this with Bish to get some training to host some GB's in the future.  So here are the first entires!

Pyrman64:  1/35 FIM-92 Stinger, 1/35 M-1097

How the heck did I get added to this list?! Huh?  All I did was ask a question.....  Granted I will join this build, but I'm still in the TBD mode.

Sorry about that Pyrman, I got a little entry happy.  Embarrassed

Be happy to change it to TBD.  Just let me know what you decide on.  Again, sorry.

A nice selection, and that makes 2 ZSU's. I am not into Soviet armour, but I have always fancied doing one of those. So I will be watching the builds of those two very closely.

Nice pile of kits, jbell!

I have some bad news though. I'm going on a trip to the states, but I didn't knew the exact date untill today. It is September 1st. Now what's bad about a trip to the states? Well, it's no private trip, so I have very little free time. That  means that I can't do what I'd really like to do: Meet with some of you folks over there. To make things worse: I'm staying over there for 3 weeks with no time for anything, including modelling. So I can't start this GB at the same time as you guys. I'll try to keep updated on everyones progress though...

I would love to join this GB, but not sure what my current commitments will allow me to build. I have plenty of Flak/ADA/SAM/AAA in my stash to choose from. Something simple, and 1/35 of course...

Will be great to have you on board if you can make it Stik. Why not see how your other builds pain out and jump in later if you can. I know it can be very easy to over commit to GB's.

Hey Stik, would love to have you on board for this GB.  You've got plenty of time to see if it will work out for you.  Just let me know.  Could always put you down as TBD.

Yes do that for now. The more I think about it, the more I realize of that stuff that I have in my stash.

Just going through this weeks e-mail from Hannants and came across this.

 http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MM61701

I have never heard of this company. It looks nice and a good price for this scale. has anyone heard anything about this kit.

Sorry, I know nothing about the kit and the company... I can't find anything about it on the web as well.

The price is really good. It is even cheaper than Dragon's 1/35 kit and I think there is a reason for it being that cheap...

Just my 2 cents...

I haven't found anything either. I found some of these other stuff on a site, all large scale.

In regards price I would normally agree. But Dragon kits are full of extra plastic for different options most of which isn't used, and that has to bump up there price. And the Dragon kit is double the AFV, and that's a good kit. I think the 1/18th gun could go either way.

More searching I think.

Count me in with a 1/76 Airfix 40mm Bofors and a Revell 1/76 M-16 Halftrack.

My father was a fire control operator on a 40mm Bofors during WW II with the 447th AAA AW Bn, Battery C.  Battery C was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for its actions during the Battle of the Bulge.

I'm planning a dio depicting the Bofors & M16  on the morning of 17 Dec. 1944 (they attacked 25 light, med & heavy German Tanks and a company of infantry).

I'm just starting to put together the parts for the dio and only have the Bofors,  M16 & white metal Bofors crew so far but it's a great way to get started.  I'll add a Panzer IV and German Infantry later.

Welcome aboard Adrian. Eagle will put you down for your 76th Dio when he is next on.

My Great Uncle used to be a gunner on the Bofor. He was based up in the Shetland Isles, probably protecting the Navy base up there. and claims he never saw a German aircraft. I didn't know the Americans used them.

I'm new to FSM, and Shivinigh has been pestering me to do a group build, so he's given me a Hasegawa 88mm Flak 18 1/72 scale. it's my first non-plane kit since I was in high school and i'm just getting back into scale model building. This is going to be fun.

Welcome Jacinth68!  Got you on the list!  And good for Shivinigh!  You will love doing a GB!  You really do learn a lot!  We have some awesome builders in the GB that are more than willing to help and share tips and tricks.  I'm doing my first car in another GB, so I know how you feel, but once you get started you just can't stop!

got car cleaned out to start loading for nationals. will have 2 good size wooden ships (not mine but my wood ship club has an 8 model exhibition) and i am taking 10 because i can. none will win unless there are only 2 other entries in the category but what the hell doubt there will be many MAS boats, MAIALE submarines, firejeeps or syrian police BRDMs there. maybe, when the dust settles i will pick a kit and build for national competition in between building for fun. NNNAAAAAHHHHH!!!!too many GBs.
