I completed research stage 1 last night. Watched the "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" movie on YouTube. I can't say it's aged so well, but I did get extensive info on the diving suits.

GM, that diving suit could turn out to be quite colourful.  Here's why I say that after googling for images:

The suit in the photo is a crew suit. Nemo's is similar, but the body suit itself is white, of course since he's the boss.

The guy at Dimensional Designs tells me the headlamp can be illuminated. I want to figure that one out.

Jack thats quite an undertaking, I can see any number of sub assemblies. Great subject.

Jibber - looks great!  Man...that was fast, and good.  I think I may have a hip glued to my horse, and that's it.

That's ok, I have a finger glued to the deck of my sailboat!

Nice work on Robby there Jibber. Haven't had much time to work on Spidey due to work and trying to get my car fixed, but have managed to get his limbs together and the seams on his legs sanded out.

Aaro amd Tim- love the Vlog. Missed watching them.

Thanks to you all, it really wasn't that fast just seemed that way. Again I can't wait to see these builds coming up.

Here we so far- I think the camera washed out some detail...

Gamera, looks good and I can see  shading in the faces.  Smart move on painting an exact shape to the whites of the eyes - really helps getting the iris and pupil  centered/looking in the same direction.

I haven't even got mine out of the box yet. I have trouble enough concentrating on one build at a time. I will get to it soon though. I need to make sure I can sort the legs out.

Thanks guys, need to get Picard's eyes painted too. Funny, in a bit of a quandary here- I'm intending to add a little red wash to Picard's eyes to highlight the edges. I'm wondering if I should use green for the Romulan, considering her green copper based blood,  dunno how it will look- guess I can paint over it if I don't like it.  

Gamera looks great so far, I have to admit that as much as I build I have a difficult time painting faces. I'm very impressed when people do it right. Picard was a great character and STNG was one of the best Sci Fi series ever. Nice choice in a hero.  

Gamera, that's a good question you have regarding Romulan blood effecting the eye colour.  Looking at both movie and art profiles, it seems they were left portrayed as human, except for very dark iris.

Maybe someone with some medical background would have better insight, as copper in blood species actually do exist.   At the moment I'm too tired in to wrap my head around  "... appeared green when oxygenated in the arteries, or copper or rust-colored when deoxygenated in the veins"  and tying that in with the eye surface - lol.

Romulans have our eyes, I would paint em the same

Jack and Jibber- thanks guys! Octopi have copper-based blood on Earth, guess I should look up some photos of them. The Romulans were played by human actors and actresses so they'd have to have the whole pink blood vessel thing going on even if make-up used green and yellow on the skin. I went with the green - looks sorta ok- if I don't like it when she's done- easy enough to paint over!

That Solo figure is looking right on.  Can't tell if it's the lighting or your rendering, but the leather belt looks really good.
