It's actually coloured VERY desert sand, that is the camera effect. I must admit that looks like one COOL color. Hard to tell its a Revell huh ;]

Thank you for the kind words folks. Photo snaps hide a lot of defects & mistakes, which I will try to amend in future builds.

That was the first tank but surely not the last, it was a sheer joy building and painting it.

All inspiration was derived by watching your desert dusty projects (especially that Pz.III between the Roman ruins was a true masterpiece in 3-D), so thank you all.

First off-nice work all-a lot of inspiring builds here.  I'm sorry that I haven't been commenting as the pics have been posted but I have been viewing the posts daily.

Did a little scratch building on this one-racks for the gas cans, mounting for the twin Vickers in the back seat, mounting for a Vickers on the drivers side fender.  Nice basic kit-a lot of opportunities to take it to the next level.

Didn't quite get finished-having trouble finding time/motivation/space to work on the SAS Jeep, but I will finish this one-just a matter of painting some of the smaller detail, a coat of Future (if I can find it), then an oil wash and then a coat of flat and maybe testing the Tamiya weathering powers I picked up.

As always, I enjoyed watching everyone build and hope to see you again in another GB

Eric-another great theme-sorry that you didn't get to participate at the level you wanted but hopefully things will sort out and you can participate at the levels you desire.

Catchy 109 there Matt. Unless I missed it in an earlier post, it looks like the 11 numerals are backwards.

Thanks for the encouragement Bob. Sorry, but I guess the fairer sex got more of my attention then did my bench. Wink

Yes tigerman, the set for the other side ripped. Revel decals usually are of poor quality. So I put them on it "good side" lol

I am EXTREMELY pleased with my 109, that and my A7-A are my first two builds, and the A-7A looks like a child constructed it...Embarrassed

Matt: Your 109 looks great! I wouldn't be able to tell it's only your 2nd build!

Zvezda: That little bugger looks like a 1/35 one! Without anything fir size comparison I would'Äve never believed it's only 1/72! Outstanding work!

Bob: A nice looking Jeep you got there! I can't wait to see her finished!

Nicely done Dogzilla17 - remember building that  kit 9044 and using several aftermarket Photo etch, metal barrel and friu track. Test fit the DS Dragon track and its going to be tight. Anyone in the Group have any suggestions on how best to them. Armor 86

Getting closer to finishing Pz IV 'D' - detail painting of tools, tow cable and other items. Already applied a couple of washes. Test fitted the kit provided track, Dragon's new DS Track. Looks like it going to be a tight fit. Test fitted the engine, transmission and crew access hatches. The kit comes with 7 different marks for DAK theater vehicles. Mostly white outlined numbers, however reference photos have several vehicles with dark fill in with white outlines. Photos below. Armor86

Dogzilla: Nice work on that Pz. IV! I really like the figure you added!

Dan: Looking great!

I'd need your guys' help with my Pz.IV. Does anyone of you have pictures of the upper ammo bins (those attached to the hull roof)? My interior set is for a late Pz. IV and it has the ammo bins for the KwK 40. I am building an Ausf.E with the KwK 24 so I need the bins for the shorter ammunition which means I have to either modify the ones provided in the interior set or scratch-build some new ones. Any pictures would be very helpful.

Schatten Spartan - I think you're in luck, since I've installed an interior with my project as well, enclosed some photos with the upper hull ammo bins. Not much left - just small details, install track, jerry cans, spare road wheels, AK DAK wash, and then a final weathering of dirt - dust. Photos. Armor86

SchattenSpartan: Thanks yeah it does look pretty new, the commander has been taken good care of his tank

Zvezda: Thanks I'll pass your message along to him.
Nice looking Panzer III you got there,  1/72 scale is to small for my big fingers.

Matt-Joachim: Nice lookin' 109.  I've learned the hard way that you have to me very careful with those revell decals.

Dogzilla17: Very nice looking Panzer IV.

Bobbaily: I like all the extra jerry cans on the hood and driver and passenger seats.  Interesting way to paint the wheels, by leaving one point attached to the sprue tree.

Armor86: She is looking awesome, all the fine details both inside and outside.

On my Work Bench: Tamiya Ford GT 1/24

Up Coming: ?

WOW Dan, that's looking great.

Spartan, wish I could help as well. But shamefully, my Pz IV reference is rather limited.

Found the website Deutsches-Afrika-Korps - Thema anzeigen - Which Pz IVs were hybrid D/E has several color plates which helped out - noted vehicle number 812 was researched and mention. Armor86

Those tracks look great, Dan!

Thanks for that pic of the ammo bin! Looks like I can use one of them without a lot of modification (it appears to just be a wee bit shorter than one of those from the resin set).
