Yes, I am going to build both of them (and maybe Dragon's Tiger 2).

My name contains 2 "E"s BTW. Just sayin... Wink

Cheers, Clemens

ACK! I think I've been spelling your name with an 'O' for sometime. My apologies- I'll try to be more careful in the future! Embarrassed

Interesting point, SS. I remember reading that the SU-152's Russian name translates as "animal hunter," and alluded to Tigers and Panthers as its prey -- which makes it sound like a tank destroyer.

It was used to destroy the big cats, but it wasn't designed to be a tank destroyer. An ISU-122 (ISU-152 with 122mm AT gun) would fit this GB though...

A bit more on the Hetzer.  I am going to do it in a winter scheme.

Gee I was thinking last night: 'Am I the only one still working on something in this GB!?!' Wink

Cody: Very nice. Did you glue the skirts on though- seems like it might be hard to tread the tracks under them like that! Surprise

Castelnuovo: I hope Clemens is ok with that- it's very cool looking- gigantic gun on that tiny little chassis.

Started painting the tips on the turned brass ammo last night and the can and belt for the turret mounted MG. Put a matte coat on the M10- she should be pretty much done- just need to get her armed up now.

Castlenuovo-  I have that kit as well, and would count that as a Tank Destroyer for sure! But that's my opinion of course. Probably best to wait for the word from the GB organizer.

Oh and Gamera I did indeed put the skirts on too early but thankfully I was able to slip the tracks under them.  I have done some painting  and chipping using the hairspray technique.  I'm no good at it but have to admit that after doing cars and having to be so perfect with them....  its kinda nice to dirty something up.  I have some pigments and washes I will try to add later.  I also believe I am going to make a little base with a snowy/muddy road.

Cody: Ohhhhhhhh, very nice! The whitewash looks perfect!!!

I hope you enjoy this, I've tried doing cars and well, I'm not very good at getting a perfect glossy finish. I like being able to splash mud and dirt around!!!

Thanks Gamera!  I am definitely enjoying this!  Like you said dirtying up something is a nice change of pace!

Cody sometimes the dirtier the better and nice job fitting those tracks under the skirts. That snow wash looks really good.

Thanks Jibber!  I had some fun with the pigment and fixer.  :)  It will look better once its on a base.  I plan to make a muddy road with a little snow on the sides.  I may add a figure or two after I get the base worked out.

Yeah, looks great Cody- love the muddy running gear and the rust running down is a nice contrast with the whitewash.

I was hoping to been done this weekend but I've hit a small snag.I picked up some really cool looking turned brass ammo from AFV Club- they even come with tiny decals for the labels! Well, I figured I'd install them AFTER finishing the turret since it's got the big OPEN top and all but I really need some of those bent tip tweezers and I don't have any. Or something- it's been a bear to get them in and lying in the racks in the proper position. I took a few photos but apparently PhotoBucket isn't working today, at least not on this machine since it's been saving the same edited photo for three minutes or so now.

Ok, PhotoBucket worked fine this morning. And I got two more ammo rounds cemented in without knocking anymore off!!!

That whitewash looks great, Cody! The mud looks good as well!

Cliff: I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of your M10!

Castelnuovo: Of course you're in! How can I not allow such an awesome looking vehicle!

Thanks Clemens, I've tried painting plastic shells but they end up looking like painted plastic. The brass ones aren't that expensive and they do look lovely. Only complaint is you can barely see the decal labels on the shells when they're placed in there.

Well I'm down to the friggin' right headlight shield that keeps popping off- GRUMBLE!!! If the blasted thing would stay on I'll put down the final matte coat and finish the M10...Bang Head

Ok, I think I'm done here. I sprinkled some model railroading 'snow' on her just to see how it would look. I suppose I can still scrub the stuff off - dunno if I'll leave it or not.

Seriously sweet work, Gamera! She came out nigh-perfect, and the snow looks great! I can feel the chill breath of the Ardennes just to look at her!

i think the snow works fine. it looks nice. have you considered a little terrain on your base perhaps just some snow or a very shallow muddy rutted path? nothing too fancy.

Thanks Wayne, I'm hoping to get around to building a small diorama with an abandoned German vehicle as well along with figures so I'm going to wait till I get around to the German. Not sure when that will be though.

If it's not too late to join I would like to enter with my Tamiya 1:35 M36 Jackson as a crossover with Eagle90's Armor in the West GB.

That one starts next month. The model is on order.

Thanks!

Oops. Eagle90 asked for no crossovers in his GB that I'm already in, so don't add me to this one please.

Sorry.

I had a quick PM off SS last night. He has been really busy with work recently and expects this to continue for another couple of weeks. He only had a little time to send a PM but not time to go through threads and send replies.

He just wanted everyone to know he hasn't bailed and apologises for his absence, but as I am sure we all know, life gets in the way of the important things, like models, from time to time
