That's good to know, I was getting worried Clemens had been in an accident or had a family emergency. Thanks Bish!

Ok guys I'm officially back now!
Your M10 looks fantastic, Cliff! The snow really makes it special (in a very good way) and I'd leave it on there if the decision was mine to make She should be on the front page tonight...
Hey thanks Clemens and it's good to have you back!
Good to see you back, you have a bit of catching up to do, should keep you busy
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Hello guys still my stug has bin painted for quite a bit but still fighting with fine scale as to wy I don't have options to post pics s when I used to
I moved all my hobby things the garage a while back and it's the only room with no fire damage.
So I'll keep trying to get my post pics option back. And start building again when I can..
Blackdog: Were you using the 'Insert Image' feature? Took me a little while to figure the whole thing out.
Fire damage, ouch- that sounds pretty bad!

I have to apologize as I just discovered I entered this GB a while back and totally forgot about it. I had several commissions going on at the same time. I had my son moving out and an Alaskan Cruise that came up as the wife's preferred vacation.
I'm in the middle of moving my man cave into my son's ex room which is bigger giving me more display and storage space but I should be able to post pictures of the Hetzer as soon as I can get settled down and started on the great looking Eduard kit.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
I finally was able to get started in my newly better and improved man cave so here goes...
This is a very well detailed kit with TONS of parts sporting a complete interior including a full engine.
So I started on the engine compartment adding the firewall and side details.
And started on a very nicely detailed engine. My pal Coco is very interested in the build as you can see..

Wow, that looks like an awesome kit PJ, Looking forward to seeing how much detail is in the interior there.
At least Coco isn't a Jack Russel like ours, hard to build anything when the dog is bouncing off the walls...
I don't think I have seen an Eduard armour build, looking forward to this one PJ.
Gamera
The interior is pretty extensive, even a full set of radios is included. I will have to add some scrap extension line wire for the electrical lines later on. Coco is very easy going and spends most of the day as you see her here on her favorite chair next to my workbench.
Bish Interesting observation as I believe this is the only Eduard armor kit along with the early and mid production ones. I completed more of the interior and some of the parts are just being held in place with a drop or two of Aleene's to be popped out during painting. The kit brings parts for a Version A and B but has to explanation as to which is what. I did a little googling and version B is actually for the post war vehicles. Mine will be a war time one so on with Version A. Still tons of parts to go on so more to come........

I was trying to think of other armour kits of theirs I had seen.I don't yet have a hetzer in the collection, and with the interior, this could defiantly be an option.
Cliff: I got your M10 posted on the front page. Took me a bit longer than expected because I had to sort out the chaos on my workbench (making room for an upgrade )
PJ: Very nice work on that Hetzer! Thanks for the info on the different gun assemblies!
Hey Clemens thanks, and may I say great GB!!!
Got some work done on the Hetzer interior. Got things painted and the radios wired up with discarded electronic wiring. There is still a ton of small parts to get attached but it's beginning to look like a tank interior.
I have the engine assembled and painted and sitting in the rear compartment. I still have to wire up the battery and add a bunch of small items. The barrel was assembled as well as all the gun parts. I also cleaned up all the seams on the ammo which is also ready for paint, all 20 of them. Up to now, all the parts fit really well and have excellent details. My only critique is that Eduard should have kept the parts assembly grouped in the parts tree and not scattered over 3-5 trees which makes it a challenge to flip thru several trees to gather the parts. The gun is waiting for some paint and once the interior is together, the real fun will begin with the washes and weathering to make things look used. That engine and compartment are begging for some weathering!

Nice work PJ and a nice looking interior.
I hate it when companies spread related parts all through the sprues. Apart from anything else, it doesn't help with keeping a tidy bench.
Looking very nice, PJ! I find parts being acattered around on a lot of sprues really annoying too, but I guess it's something I have to live with as roughly 85% of my armor kits are Dragon kits...
I just got my July issue of FSM this Friday and the use of metal foil for the gun hood on an Fw-190 D-13 is mentioned in the Tips section. That one's from you, isn't it?

Yep, been there with a few kits. But saying that, it don't take much to get my bench cluttered. I just started a new build an hour ago after having the traditional post build clean up and its already getting crowded.
Hi SS. Yep, that tip is from me when I did the Butcher Bird GB and replaced the thick hood with one made from wine bottle foil. It looks a lot better than the kit part.
I have a ton of Dragon kits and hope they don't do the same thing about scattering parts. I guess I'm getting picky in my old age.
I know that feeling all too well, Bish. I always have to clean up my bench after every major construction step because there's sprues everywhere. I should mention that my bench is quite big too...
Sorry to disappoint you mate, but Dragon does exactly the same thing. It's a result of most of their kits being a mix of 3-5 different kits plus extra parts to make the particular version of the vehicle that can be built out of the kit...
I find with Dragon kits it does help to start by removing all the un needed parts, that at least makes things a little easier. It can vary from kit to kit as to how much searching your have to do for parts.
True. I built their King Tiger a while back and it was pretty straight-forward with most of the included parts being used. Their Pz.IV kits however are a completely different category of kits.
Well, they have done Pz IV's for just about every month of its production run, its no wonder the kits are so mixed up
Seems more like one for every week if you ask me... :P
plasticjunkie Bish Nice work PJ and a nice looking interior. I hate it when companies spread related parts all through the sprues. Apart from anything else, it doesn't help with keeping a tidy bench. Thanks Bish! Funny that you mentioned not helping keeping a tidy bench as this is exactly as my bench looks like, really! All those trees just to assemble one small component.
first off that IS NOT messy.
secondly i was keeping a big paper trash bag next to my bench to throw dead sprues and other junk in. it was full when a piece went flying. combed through the bag twice looking for it.
thirdly DRAGON american half tracks are just as bad for all the extra parts. my SS-25 has that too because it's 1/72 and can be configured in the travel mode with 14 tires on the ground or launch mode with 5 outriggers on the ground. there are different suspension pieces

Tasca/Asuka does the same thing, like providing three different sets of road wheels for each Sherman. I think I have enough wheels and spare parts now I can build a half dozen Shermans- just need the hulls!
Almost a week and no action here. I will post some more progress then but first Happy 4th to all!
Finished cleaning and painting the 75mm ammo and mounted them on the racks. Added a few more things like the decals and another traversing wheel on the gun. Weird thing is that the second wheel is featured at a later build stage and not with the gun building stage.
Second gun wheel added along with the finicky mechanism. The wheel will get some chipping and a wash.
75mm ammo painted & mounted on the racks. Still have to add two seats just in front of the racks. More washes on the engine area. I still have to add more thin wire to busy things up in there. Was searching for color pictures for the Pak 39/L48 ammo but couldn't find anything so I went with the Eduard color recommendation. This compartment is packing a lot of detail as the scissors periscopes are last to be mounted after the exterior paint goes on. Once I get the additional small parts in place, I will shoot clear flat acrylic and do some more washes to tie in the weathering.

Looking good there PJ. That's an odd colour for the ammo. I know the Germans had brass and steel cases, but I have never seen green ones before.
