John, I am really liking that. I am glad I picked that one as well, that scheme with the markings is really nice.
Guys, I have been following along, but the work is of such a high standard, I think I have run out of things to say without repeating what's been said. Especially the woodwork.

Blue, Rider, Wnut, Rob, falcon....The quality of work here is just incredible. I slacked off a bit and you guys are doing a KILLER job.
Here's my small contribution so far:
Got some sanding done and getting the fuselage ready for that funky bright green this scheme takes. The nose is yellow and is taped up.
A good match is Testors Beret Green in the small bottle so need to get me that one to shoot the fuselage then will be able to apply the lozenge on the top of the lower wing and the rest of the under wing lozenge decals.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

Yes I really like how the dragon is turning out. I think you will enjoy it as well, the decals went on real easy. I have to add the radiator tube from the engine to the wing radiator as Eduard doesn't supply one. Can't wait to put it in the done column.

John, what are you using for that tube. I was looking at the kit before and made a point of checking out that area. Am I right in thinking it take hot water up to the wing where its cooled and then brings it back down to the engine.

LOL Bish. That would be quite a task even tough I had to mix my own paints to touch up one wingtip area that the decal came up short.
Years ago I was building a radio controlled Fokker E.V with an 80" wingspan and was planning on doing the lozenze with Humbrol enamels and a med. sized flat brush. That would have been one heck of a hair pulling experience. We moved out of state so I sold some of my things to de clutter so the plan never materialized.

John, thanks for the clarification. Given there is two tubes, I would guess the one at the front takes up the hot water and the one at the back takes the cooled water back to the tank, that would make sense.
PJ, my step dad used to build RC aircraft and he did a German one with the lozenge scheme, I think it was a Bip but now idea what, and I am sure he painted the pattern on the wings.

PJ that too is looking pretty special. If I ever had the thought of hand painting the lozenge on an 80" wing... I would have moved too. Even if I wasn't planning to.. But that would have been a sight to behold.

People are putting up some fine looking builds here; it is great to see. My Eindecker is going to be on hold for a little bit while I wait for some replacement decals from New Zealand. I decided to attempt to repair the seam along the back of the fuselage, and doing so will require replacing a couple of decals.
I will continue to work on the engine, so may have an update or two in the interim, but other than that, progress will be a bit slow. I'm going to have to live vicariously through your updates!

An update to my progress on the Roland:
Upper wing done..here's the rib taping and Balkenkruez (both sides are done):

I installed all wing supports on the top wing and will work with it this way for a change. I usually try to fit the top wing onto the structures, so, this time I will try it this way:
I pre-attached all of the rigging lines on the top wing before installing on the struts. Way easier to work with for sure. Thanks to WNW perfect engineering, the wing just really dropped into place:

You can see I completed the landing gear rigging. Went well with the turnbuckles pre-placed:

I seem to be hogging the updates, LOL, but, I got more:
Rigging tightened up marvelously with the pre-positioning of the lines and the even more spectacular turnbuckles:
Prop detail, cell phone cam can't focus well on fine details:

Mounted..no glue required, friction fit very well and snuggled well into orifice:

That is just amazing Rob, just beautiful. I can't get over the look of the wood and the wings make it one eye catcher.
I have to ask, what's with the colour of the tires. I would have said you have forgot to paint them, but I know you haven't missed something like that.
Can't wait to see this on the base, and I believe this is the first completed build in the GB.

Hey Bish, thanks so much. Just simple Sky Gray on the tires. WnW's plastic is EXACTLY that colour for sure, when you spray it on, it doesn't look like anything is happening. I've never done a base before, just doing it for the show. MTF.
Bish...Doug (rigidrider) was first to finish with his sexy black and white DVII about a week ago, I believe.
PJ - the D.VII is looking real nice! That lozenge can be a pain in the you-know-what to apply, but man, it really adds some pop to these birds and sets them apart from anything else. Good stuff!
rocker - I'm enjoying watching the Nieuport come together. I've got a Roden 1/48 version of that bird and have been eyeing it more than usual seeing your build progress. Keep up the great work!
Rob - my hat's off to you sir! That is a build anyone would be proud to display and it's really set the bar high. The woodwork, the subtle shading, and the attention to detail - just, WOW!

Thanks Mike. It was fun..can't wait to dive into another WnW this winter. I need to get more technical with my wooden biplane props, though. Too 'stripy' on this one, but, will work on the next one that much harder.
