I wanted to throw this in just for the hell of it due to the find that I made today. I started off with these references shown below. You'll have to forgive me for the coverless Squadron book.  A victim of my idiot dogs ten years ago. They liked it too!!!

and it never fails whenever I walk in to Half Price books I always, and I do mean ALWAYS find exactly what I'm looking for. Today for example I was looking for .....well...you know........Stuka references. I hit the friggin jackpot with these for 13 bucks a piece.......

snaked em both!!!!!!!!!!

Those Luftwaffe Colour books are really nice. That's a good find. I am trying to get 5 of the Jagdwaffe books to complete the set, but they go for damn silly prices. I keep hearing good things about those Aero Detail books as well.

The covers are the same, just they have fighters on them. Theres 20 books all together, split into 5 Volumes of 4 books each. Some can be got at a good price. But just so happens the ones I am missing are the ones that are hard to get hold of. They usually go for over £100. Same goes for the two nightfighter ones and the second of the two books titled Sea Eagles.

I don't know why Classic Publications don't re print them, they would sell like hot cakes I reckon.

These are the 4 boks from Vol 2 of the jagdwaffe, just as an example. The last two of these are two that are hard to get.

I would only imagine they would go for a pretty penny Bish. My good wife was there when I found those two books yesterday as I reacted to find the ones that I did. I mean I didn't make a drooling fool out of myself but the reaction was priceless to her I know.

Your quite lucky, the Stuka ones are still pretty easy to get hold of, theres a couple on E-Bay now for around £15, so you got your at a good price. There just a few of the books from that series that go for silly prices. I have seen one of the Nightfighter books at over £1,500, that's just stupid. I think the highest I would go for one I am missing is 50 or 60, which even then is 3 times the original price.

I have to take sme pics of my Panther later so will get one of my Stuka books. I think its a good idea to show what you have, it might help others who would like to get books on a certain subject.

John: Very nice looking Stuka you got there!

Joe: Great find on those books!

Bish: 1500 bucks!? That's just insane! I am hesitant to pay anything above 40 for a book (and it has to be really good for me to do so as well) Those aero-Detail books are neat books indeed. I bought one about the Thunderbolt and I love it!

I know, I don't know what the guys was thinking. I was just checking Amazon, both Volumes of the NF books are on there now. Vol 1 is £244 for a new one and £100 for a second hand and Vol 2 £170 for second hand. And there another second hand one priced at £938.

It really bug me because the sort of people who will spend that sort of money will probably never read or even flick through the book, they will just stick it in a sleeve and add it to the collection.

Yeah I try not to spend a whole lot on research myself. I did go overboard with my Dora book by Jerry Crandall. I stepped out on a ledge and spent 90 bucks on that thing but its a good read as well as a good reference.

Kagero just came out with a new Stuka book. It ships after March 31,...in honor of this GB??? It looks promising and is $20 euros, direct. $22 USD preordered on Amazon, which is about my upper limit for a book. Beyond that, I'm just gonna guess.

For me it depends on the subject. If its something I am really in to and will build a lot of, I will get plenty of books. For other subject, I might just get one or two and then I have a couple of fairly old general military aircraft books for my modern US and Russian models. So as you can imagine, about 95% of my reference books are on German armour and aircraft.

Thanks for the heads up pilot. I haven't got any of those Kagero, this might be a good excuse to get one. I am sure between us all we can come up with any info anyone is looking for.

This is my current collection of Ju 87 specific books.

I think I might try that pilot. Its £16.99 here, but that works out at about $25. If I pre order it, they might reduce the price.

I am working on it Joe Big Smile

Good point on the pre-order of the Kagero book, Bish. As soon as you do it, the price will go down again!
