I just thought - maybe it would help to touch up the instruments with some black pen and after the ink dries try to scratch the white markings out?

Looking great guys. A little more progress on the gear bay and doors. Also the canopy in the background. It all just needs a little touching up.

Well a little progress with the huey today

Got the engine mounted

Fuselage glued together and roof taped on to check the fit. There is going to be alot of work having to be done to get this kit to finish up good.

The worst part is the wicked step on the bottom. If I tried to get the bottom to line up without the step, the the top had no chance of lining up. So I rather deal with this.

Looks like you have made a great start. The Huey is a tough build. Built one a long time ago and was never happy with the way it turned out. Maybe that is why I avoid them like the plague now.

Not a whole lot to show, but the Centurion is fighting a bit.  I figured the turret would go pretty quickly and easily, but it has eaten up a lot of time working with fiddly bits, odd molding decisions by AFV club and other odds and ends.  Update here:

The builds are looking good, I especially like the AC-47.  I am working on a pair of these, one in 1/350 and one in 1/72 scales not attached to any GB.

I feel like a slacker as I have been working on an LVTP7 for the Orphaned Armor GB and the mentioned AC-47s and haven't started on my B-52D for this GB.  Although tomorrow is the first day of class I am already behind on my reading assignments so the future is not looking good for much dedicated hobby time.

Nice progress so far guys! I have got to get my butt back to my work bench in the next day or so... I just have not had much motivation to do so since Saturday. More a case of me oogling kits out of my stash and mulling what to do for future projects.

LOL, glad I ain't the only one. I often go into the shed and look at the kits thinking what I would like to build. I just have to remind myself I already have plenty in the pipeline to keep me going.

Another "shelf queen/no more excuses GB"? LOL! I know that I have a couple dozen or more candidates to enter. And then on today's bike ride I was thinking of future GB subjects... Fabulous 50's... Swinging 60's... Super 70's.... Those are pretty widespread for subject matter.

Nice work so far guys. I hope to kick off my build soon.

UGH I thought the deadline was today instead of next year. I had to rush to get this thing done SIGH it could have looked a lot better. Im at about 90% complete.

Detailing the gear bays was quite difficult, even with my collection of hog brushed.

Hello Matt-Joachim! Looks like you will be the first to complete a build here - congratulations! Too bad you didn't post more WIP (Work-in-progress) photos.

I also have worked on a gear bay. In my model the front gear bay is one piece with the cockpit. Here's what the gear bay looks like:

I also finished the cockpit. First I had to repair the damage - the steering yoke was broken. Here's my fix:

After I repaired the yoke it turned out it doesn't fit - the middle tunnel that goes between thee pedals doesn't have enough place - so I cut the pedals apart and glued them separately. I also fitted a piece of styrene to the back of the instrument panels to move the pedals further forward.

I also had to repair the seat's ejection handle, I made it from a piece of copper wire. It was painted yellow and black. The cockpit now looks like this:

Last thing I did was to prepare the intake tunnels. I painted their insides white, with a red stripe that was added before the intakes were glued together. The seams were to form a panel line, but it turned out a little too wide for me, so I slapped on some Surfacer 500:

You can also see the compressor turbine in the picture. The next thing to do would be to close up the hull - the nose weight is an important detail to remember here!

Yep Matt looks like you will be the first one done, lookin good too. Pawel that A-4 is coming along nicely. I just discovered I have that same kit in my stash. I am thinking about building it.

As for the Huey, she is pretty much dead in the water till mid September. I got a bunch of other projects going on for the IPMS chapter here, plus other things going on. I can hear the huey in the corner asking to be worked on :(

  I would have posted more work in progress pics except i chose to try out some dollar store spray paint for the body (HUGE MISTAKE) they looked terrible. The model would look much better if i would have went model specific. I guess you get what you pay for! I will be making another model for this GB to compensate for the mediocrity of my A-7.  This A-7 is ok but ill defiantly put file ii in the learning expierence folder lol.  NOT DONE YET THOUGH!!
