Here's the bottom with all the landing gear and air brakes on ,a little weathering and staining also. Yeah, I realize I should have done this before the tail hook went on. DOH!Embarrassed Live and learn.

I think it looks good. Remember the hook would be in that position most of the time and would get exposed to the same dirt as the rest :-)

Well, I'm calling this HUN done. Is it perfect? Nope. Did I have a blast doing it? Heck yeah. I've also learned many new techniques that I can try on my next build to make it better

So as not to leave anyone out, A big thanks to all who participated in this GB, especially the moderators and anyone who gave me encouragement and advice!

One question, the cockpit still has a little tape residue left on, Any idea on how to remove it?

I splashed some red on the skid plate because my uncle told me the crew chiefs in Nam would spray paint them red. When the pilot would scuff it off, he owed the CC a case of beer!

Another funny story is that when they brought the Huns over to Nam, his pilot said "There was quite a racket in the ammo bay on the way in. Could you check it out?" When my uncle opened the hatch it was filled with cans of .........BEER! The pilot had a big grin. They had filled them up on a stopover at a base in Japan!

Well done!  It really looks sharp.  I'm like you, I try to learn and do better every time I start a new kit.  Your first GB badge too!

Right on Mailwalker. I am the one who will post a final pic on the front page. Choose a pic from the set you posted as the one you want displayed on the front page and I'll post it. As for the tape residue, I like the product GooGone on the tip of a QTip, or, 99% isopropyl alcohol works too. Great job, nice finish and welcome to the club!!

Thanks Rob. Lets go with the third one from top. Displays the tail numbers nicely, which was the point of this build anyway. I think my Uncle is going to love it!

Mailwalker's Hun is loud and proud up front!! I echo Theun's comments, I'll look in on this and post any last minute completed pics up front. I ask for a quick personal message just in case I'm engrossed in other projects and this GB slips way down on the list.

VERY impressive set of Century jets. Well done guys. Very proud and happy to have been part of this most excellent GB. Big shout out to Theuns for hosting!! Again, well done!! YesCoolYes

Should I bother to finish?  I  imagine a need about 3 days to go.  Got it mostly finished.  Sad

Cool!

Ok. Its only a 1/144 but a horrendous kit. I think I have got it ready to paint. There wasn't even a opening in the cockpit area. I had to cut it out myself! >:(

I have been working on it since the 21st I think but here are some pics finally.

Some from academy are still pretty good.  Minicraft is ok.    This one is just aweful.  :(
