Those checkerboards ain't too shabby, either!

Oh brother, dont mention the checkers.   You did not see them up close. Tamiya tape really let me down--maybe my tape is old. Anyway they are so messy they could pass for the real thing!

I'll jump into this one for sure! Haven't built anything for about a year because of a move to another town and I just got the bench set for building.

What better way to christen the new location than with a Monogram kit!

The Tigercat was the right aircraft at the wrong time. Too late to for WWII, and in Korea it was a niche job aircraft. But nevertheless an impressive machine

Somehow the Grumman company survived.

Round about that same time the Brits were working on the Sea Hornet, and then there were the tests about how to get big heavy fighters on and off carriers without wandering into the islands.

Id suspect a big problem with the F7F being accepted was the  F9F

From what I have read, it had problems with Carrier quals. And the only carriers that could carry it were the three Midway class. It never would have been fleet wide in all Carrier Air Wings. Grumman was also producing the F6F-5 and the F8F at the same time. As well as bringing the F9F from development to service. Not bad at all.

I'd be down for another go. Might even have a Tigercat or two to contribute (have decals for an attractive red, white, and natural metal  fire tanker).  I just found out that I might get a chance to see one in the wild in a couple of weeks.  Breckenridge, Tx is holding an air show and it looks like Here Kitty Kitty will be making an appearance.  Will also get a chance to see a Sea Fury.

The Hs-129 would not be allowed. That is originally an ESCI mold. But the F7F family is original AMT, so it would be allowed. And the Amtech line released by AMT would be good also. As long as they are of US origin like their P-40L. But not the Hs-123... that is an ESCI.

Please forgive me godfather.  Cool

No worries.  I have more then enough Mono/Revell kits to do.  LOL!  Might do that F7F too.  Been sitting in the stash for some time.  I just so many Mono kits I'd love to dive into, I can't make up my mind.  Huh?

Nothing to forgive.... and I'm in the same boat. So many choices, including that F7F. I have the -3N.

It's a good place to be huh?  LOL!  I have the 2/2N version of the F7F.  Never really hear much about the Tigercat thou.  Nice looking airplane.

I used to have that XB-49 kit in the stash but I gave it to the Old Godfather when his place flooded.

Sorry, Stik, er, Don.  Misprint,  The list is updated, added the AV-8B on the same line.  Do you think the F-117 was an original AMT mold?

According to Scalemates, yes it is, from 1989.
