I can't wait to see them all done. Lookin foreward
Dog gone it!
I was doing some finishing touches, wanted to touch up the canopy frame, and masked it off just a little bit. After I sprayed, I pulled off the masking tape and oops, up come some decals. After some choice words, I ordered a new set (the same set I originally ordered for the Hun).
Oh well, I can use some of the "No Step" and other decals to add to my F 104. They should be here in about a week. I'll unveil both the the F 100 and F 104 at that time after I get them on.
And no, I didn't have the decals sealed yet.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

MC, I've had that happen even after sealing the decals. I learned to use silly putty or lay paper between the decal and the tape.
Stik, I just realized the next two builds I have scheduled are both monogram kits and thought it would be fun if I could get both of them done within six months. If it's OK, I'd like to sign up with an F4-C and F-80 both in 1/48. They are both crossovers from your Vietnam War and the Dawn of the Jet Age GBs going on.
On my bench: Academy 1/35 UH-60L Black Hawk
Modelcrazy, that sucks about the decals. But at least it was not a huge setback...
Silentbob, you are more than welcome to join with thoe two kits. I will get you added to the roster here soon. Welcome aboard!
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Well I had to put the two P-47s aside for a week or so. Had to make the drive from central Nebraska to Buffalo NY because I HAVE A NEW GRANDDAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes she is the most beautifule creature on the planet and I am smitten and madly in love with her!
On the plane front I do have a fair amount done but didn't get a chance to take pics.
Chris Christenson
Congrats on your new arrival, Chris!!! Enjoy the time with the wee one!!

2022 New Year's Resolution: Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!! Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge??? Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!

Sorry to hear that, MC.......hope your decals arrive soon so you can put this tragedy behind you! Great lookin' finish on the Hun! very realistic!!
TAD
Congrats, Chris!
Thanks for you condolences guys. I'm finished with the 100 and 104, both on their respective bases and just waiting for the new F-100 decals. I just need to replace the "US AIR FORCE" and some rescue markings on both sides. It should only take me a few minutes, then I take some pics of both, and call them done.
Thank you echolmberg for your generosity in helping replace my 104 decals.
A lot of decal SNAFU's with these two builds.
P-61 got her new paint job. Comin along now
Your Widow is coming along nicely, Woody!!
Thanks TAD, I wish my iPad took better pics, but I just don't use my PC much or a real camera. I'm enjoying this build though.
Woody,
It's a great kit with a few issues, but it's got such good detail in the cockpit areas, and such sleek, classic lines with SOOOO MANY GUNS!! What's not to love???
Ok guys, I finally received the new decals for the F-100.
I am calling the F-100 and F-104 complete, so here they are.
Yo Stick, how you doin aeh? I believe this makes me a "Made Man", so hand over the badge boss.
As always, comments welcome. Steve
As always, comments welcome.
Sweet mercy, those are really nice!
MC, those are gorgeous!!!!!! You'se a made man now ;) Great Job!!!!
Incredible job! I am constantly amazed at how easy you made it look to get such a smooth coat of bare metal. I can't even get past the Gloss Black stage before Alclad! I bow in the presence of greatness.
Thank you very much for the compliment guys.
There were times I thought I wasn't going to get them done. From the Hun's missing canopy and old decals, 2 sets of AM decals, to the F 100's poor fitting parts, bungled panel line sanding, again torn decals, the exhaustive search for new ones, and finally the missing wheels, it was a tough run. I'm happy their completed, and turned out so well despite the hurdles.
Now on to other endeavors.
MC,
You totally crushed any hurdles that got in your way! Well done, man!!!
Thanks Dave, that means a lot.
Steve, the -100 and -104 look great! I'm glad that you were able to persevere through the rough patches and get those two gorgeous planes done. Congrats!!!

woody0369 P-61 got her new paint job. Comin along now
Steve, excellent excellent job, three models you can most certainly be proud of
-Josiah
ygmodeler4,
Hopefully I can do as well on the F4S for your GB. Thanks.
MC, WOW! You did an amazing job on the Hun and Starfighter. Someday I hope to do NM as well. Great job.
ECHO, thanks, I appreciate the comments. I'm gonna use the stock "snuffy smith" decals. I've been out of town so haven't gotten anymore done on her as of now. Hopefully this week she'll get done
Looks good! I'm doing the same kit, but my markings will be for Sugar Foot III, for the commander of the 559th TFS based in Cam Rahn Bay. I was able to finish the cockpit this week, hopefully I'll be able to make some more progress this weekend.
Nice job with the cockpit!
MV, after careful consideration, you are now made. And she is a beauty indeed! Any chance you can take a few more photos of her with a plain background?
SB, your Phantom's front office is looking good. A nice preview of things to come I am sure....
