I am having a really bad time with this academy F3 Banshee.

I will require loads of filling and sanding to get a somewhat acceptable wingroot fit.....I just hate filling!

If it had nice detail I might have continued, but allas it sucks!

I think I will keep my sanity in tact (the little that is left ;-)  and maybe pick up another model for this GB later......

Thanx

Theuns

Woody..Thanks

Trey..Thanks. You are doing a great job on the Salamander. I picked one up from a special sale Squadron had a while ago. They also had all the resin updates for it really cheap but unfortunately, they were sold out by the time I got to it. I'm hoping they run another resin sale again.

Great looking seat PJ!

I managed to get some building in today and gave the office and gear bays a wash with some ProModeller black

Also added some lead so it wo'nt be a tail sitter

More detail added to the Engine , lots more to go here. Not going to be %100 accurate but I'm hoping it will pass for something close

Yep, according to my references. It looks a bit darker without the camera flash.

Was this a standard colour for the period. As it looks in your pics, it reminds me of the Soviet interior green.

Thanks Bish. It' s a bit brighter cause of the camera flash but it's interior green equivalent to RLM 83 according to my color cross  reference guide. As I was reading, the very early F7's had a yellow green seat and green pit. The later ones had the interior green pit and seat. The Fujimi instructions have all the color callouts wrong. No surprise there.

Great work going on here Gents . Finally did the pit for the Cutlass. The pe set really dresses up things, adding some really nice details . The IP instruments have a drop of Clear Parts cement for the glass face. I still have to shoot some clear flat on the pit  (less the IP) to kill a bit the shine of the pe consoles and need to paint the head cushion grey. The camera flash makes colors look a bit lighter.

Ye, it was in the Arrow GB, but I posted some completed pics here.

cs.finescale.com/.../160554.aspx

Thunderbolt was planning on starting the NF GB at the end of this year, so I imagine he will be posting the build thread soon. Its the next one in the Defence of the Reich GB series.

A little dio would be nice for this, looking forward to that.

Bish I'm going to have to go back and look @ the 335 scheme I missed it,geussing it was in the Arrow G/B? When does the Luftwaffe N/F G/B start not seen a post about yet? I cut the nose off just to show the detail that otherwise would've been hidden, going to try to motivate myself to maybe and Im just say'n maybe build a small service type Dio.

Not a lot to update ,adding some scratch details to the engine and also relocated some of the kit supplied parts to more scale positions. Then did a little painting in the gear bay .

I know what you mean about NF schemes. I plan on doing a 219 for the Luftwaffe NF GB, but that will be in a more traditional NF scheme. For the 234 and 335 NF kits I have, I want to come up with something different. I liked the scheme I did for the 335B-4 recon I did earlier this year, so for the 234 recon, I might do something similar, I will have to see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the heads up. How come you cut the nose off.

I have no idea yet. I was going to do the recon version, but that not set in stone. I have all the 72nd dragon kits, which of course includes the NF. I am always open to ideas for Luft 46 schemes.

Going to watch this one closely TREY, I have got this in the stash and was thinking of doing it for this GB, but I don't think I have the time. Be keen to se how it builds.

AJD thanks appreciate the welcome,

Pj like the treatment of the seats nice mods!

Theuns nice Banshee, not a subject often seen too!

68GT looking forward to seeing that Panther build out!

Bish what scheme are you going with on the Ar234? Got a nice artist remdering of a Nachtjager versionWink

I'm in with Revells 1/32 162 A-2 ,got started this weekend as usual office is were it began. The interior is rather spartan but I'll be adding bits as it goes together to remedy that. The seal belts were tackled first,I used foil from a wine bottle cut up into strips then added some buckles and bits from the spares box

The nose gear assembly was missing the small return spring on the port side so I wound one out of a strand of small wire, more details will be added later. I plan to display it with the nose cone off I want to dress it up a bit

The IP is just the supplied decals with some canopy glue dropped on the instrument faces,I added the straps on the rudder pedals with the same wine foil as the harness

Starting on the engine next, still doing some research for the plumbing and accessories. cheers Trey

If possible, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with Tamiya's 48th Me 262 (not sure of scheme or markings yet) with some etch and resin added to it.  I won't get to crack at it until mid-October, when I return home from work, and at the moment I've only opened the box and tried not to drool over the resin and styrene (and instructions or decal sheets, drool will ruin those quickly).  I plan to open up an engine an the radio bay, expose the guns and toss in some fabric seatbelts on a mash of resin, styrene and etch cockpit.

Theuns, as sparse as that Academy Banshee may be, it still seems ALOT better than the 1/48 Testors offering!

68GT, I doubt you'll have mich trouble finding some nice decals for that Panther.

Tray, that would be great! And the 1st 1/32 entry we have as well if I'm not mistaking.

Bish, here is that artwork I was refering to in the PM.
