Well that was handy, look forward to seeing it. Its not an aircraft I am familiar with. I have decided I will be doing a Dragon 72nd Ar 234.

I actually found someone with leftover Decals from the Revell kit I think.  Not sure what units were on the sheet or what he was sending but I'll be building a Bluebird.

Modelcrazy

That's great that you found the colors you were looking for.

I usually end up buying most on the internet as they have better selection and prices. I have two LHS that have kind of ok paint selection (and I don't mean Hobby Lobby) which I can use most of the time if I need a certain color in a pinch.

I had a little build time and this is the result of my 1/72 Banshee.

I must say I liked it more in the box than what I see here.

There is basically NO detail in the wheel wells, the cockpit is very spartan, but I will just do it as a fun build.

The bottom of the wingroot fairings will need quite a bit of filler and sanding as the fit is rather poor :-(

I must say I do like the bold colorfull markings though :-)

PJ,

My LHS's paint variety really sucks. They lean more to car colors for the Lexan body of RC cars (REALLY big in the Boise area) than plastics, however I did find the MM colors I need on the internet and will get them before I start.

Thanks guys for the help.

Thanks guys. This Cutlass is pretty uncommon model as i haven't seen one at any of the shows I have gone to. Fisher makes a 1/32 one that is pretty nice but pricey being all resin.

Modelcrazy

I strictly use the MM enamel line so I'm one of those that swear by it. I like using enamels cause I can thin them and dial down the air pressure and do some really fine mottling, something I can't do with acrylics.

Your LHS should carry them or you can order from places like Sprue Bros. or Scale Hobbyist.

Hey crazy, Model master makes both rlm 81 & 82. Some people aren't fond of Model master enamels, and some people swear by them. The rlm colors do seem to dry a tad glossy, but a flat coat takes care of that. Surely others make those shades as well.

Hey PJ,

I'm pretty sure you can help me with this. I'm doing research for the Me262A "JV44" I'm doing for this build, and I can't seem to find any RLM81 Brown Violet or RLM82 Light Green. Do you have any ideas for substitutions?

Steve

Pj, thats gonna look pretty dang great! Awesome work on the PE too. That would have been such a sexy jet had they not jacked the cockpit 2 stories high.

Great model choices fellas. I have that F-80 kit and it has some great molded details.

Couple of evenings back I took the Cutlass out of the stash and began to research as I usually do before a build. The kit is very well made and the cockpit is decent OOB as is but during my search of cockpit images I came across a beautiful cockpit pe set. I was really excited as no one has made pe details for this particular model till apparently last year. It is made by Eduard for a company called RS-IM. Apparently UMM is the only one stocking it and gave it's owner John Vojtech a call and ordered a set from him.

OK, I have made my kit choice, but will not likely be able to start it before the end of the year. I am gonna build the 1/48 Hobbycraft Vampire Mk.I

Being the host of this and what not, I do feel alittle bad about not really being able to dive into my jet plane until around the turn of the year. Who knows, maybe I will be able to do some interior work or something..

Until then, a small teaser of what I'll be putting together...

Sounds pretty cool there PJ!

Btw: Has anyone else besides me already started? Sorry I haven't gotten more done but I poured on the Mr. Surfacer pretty thick and want to make sure it's really dry all the way though before I try sanding out the rough areas inside the intakes.
