Here's where I'm at:

All control surfaces. Very nice fits here and fully poseable!

Despite my 'issue', engines settled in nicely

Very sturdy landing gear. They did a bang up job with this, I must say! Lots of pins and flat surfaces to work with. Took mere minutes to construct both.

Well, thats one reason we share our bilds, we all make mstakes and its nice to be able to warn others to be careful and check what your doing.

Glad it worked out ok, she is really coming on well.

Despite the fact that it was flown by the bad guys, it truly was an awesome aircraft...AND, Airfix absolutely aced it!

I am thinking about adding a dirty windshield effect to the Albion. I want to simulate the "sweep" of the wipers. I have a general idea of how to do it but I was hoping to find a video of someone who knew how to do it.

If anyone can point me to a video, that would be awesome.

All I gotta say, with a huge sprue of clear parts, a bit daunting, they literally fell together!! I love the new Airfix. These kits are engineered to perfection. That massive conical greenhouse on the 111 was 5 pieces, and they 'Lego' bricked together with no muss or fuss. Very happy with that.

The belly glass went on great with extra parts for the machine gun ports. I installed the MG housings inside and cut the barrels off. There's no way they would have survived 'till the end 

Hi Rob, that is looking to be a really nice kit of the Heinkel bomber.  Curious, but did Airfix include swastikas on the decal sheet for the rudder?

Jack, no, dissappointlingly there's no swastikas. Fortunatly I have lots.

O, now thats nice, those clear parts look nice and clear and glad to hear it goes together well.

Jack, unfortunatly, no Swastika's is a feature of any kit made in Europe. I guess they can't be sure which ones will end up in Germany and which might go elsewhere.

Thanks for the link. Since I don't have an airbrush I'm kicking around the idea of trying pastel chalk dust. I dunno. I think I'll play with it and see whether I like it or not.

I was in the LHS today to pick up and tin of paint and while in there was gently caressing one of these 111's (not sure i should be admitting that) then i had a gentle voice whisper in my ear

Speaking of LHS, I just dropped bloody $20 on paint for the Heinkel. I decided to go for the exact RLM colours instead of trying to 'eyeball' it with mixing Tamiya stuff. Anyway, I really dislike Model Master Acryl stuff. Doesn't stick well and it gums up my AB. I'll 'muscle' through it....

Good thing is, i have been building up some creit notes against her, so i can play that hand later

20 bucks for paint for just this, for 3 colours. That stuff must be expensive.

I know everybody has just been dying to find out what I have planned for this GB. After doing a bit more research I'm going to try to depict an incident, that happened during the larger battle at Nomonhan, on the night of 3/4 July 1939. The model will be a BT-7, 1/35 scale, manufacturer to be determined.

Main source of my research is from:

Coox, Alvin D. Nomonhan: Japan Against Russia, 1939. Standford, CA: Stanford University Press, 1985. 

The incident I'm going to depict is described below in Coox's work.

"From a distance of 50 meters, a Japanese superior private saw a tiny black dot jump aboard a tank, illumined by an enemy flar. It was Major Adachi, opening a hatch and trying to grapple with the tank crewman. Tracer fire from another tank shot him off the tank; he fell backward and was run over. The time was about 1 A.M. on 4 July (p. 333)."

I spent a considerable amont of time doing the masking tonight. THAT had to be the bigges masking job on any kit I can remember. Anyway, black chrome Bare Metal foil and a new blade make for some fine work. Oh, I know whey 'they' lost the war...they spent TOO much time building their bloody war machines!! Wow, talk about windows!! Anyway, got is masked then applied a coat of Tamiya primer. That's it for tonight.

Its fun masking those German windows isn't it .

So i guess this means we will soon be seeing some paint on.

Yes, I will be getting at that prob Friday. I am still debating pre-shading the top surfaces. The RLM 70 and 71 are so dark, I don't think the effort will show through. I'll do a test to see. RLM 65 underneath will have preshading. Not looking forward to MM Acryl job, but, it's what I have and I'll have to dissassemble the AB and give 'er a good scrubbing.

Josiah:  I've updated the front page with your BT-7.  When you settle on a manufacturer, I can add that too.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Rob:  Fine work there!  But I think whenever I get around to doing mine, I'll be looking for some pre-cut masks!!  Nice job!

Looks like I'll be getting some.  I'll also need some for P-40 camouflage, and the new-mold Blenheim arrived, too, for the 1941 GB.  It's got plenty of windows, too.

Rob S: The Heinkel looks great, good to hear the part if is good. Sounds like it goes together easier than the Revell 1/48 version.

As it turns out the engine exhausts were attached wrong, so I re-attached them again the right way. Glued on the right engine with covers and propeller.
