Great! I started this at least 9 years ago then sidelined it. All that was done was the running gear for both sides. I'll pull it back out to resume and finish!!!

Sounds good, stik.  Yes, partially built is fine.  I've updated the build roster.  Looking forward to watching your work!

Thanks for participating in the GB.

Ok, I think I’m gonna do a 1/35 Heller Somua S35 tank for my selection. It’s slightly started already if that’s ok...

I hate when that happens.  I use white glue.

Still--you've built an extremely attractive plane.

Thanks, I tried to install an antenna wire but the CA wasn't sticking to anything but my fingers.

Excellent, Ed.  Great work!

What's your choice for the finish photo?

And here are both 1939 and 1945 both rounding the corner together.  It always amazes me how small the 109 was compared to some of the other aircraft.

Good looking paintwork; makes a nice change from the usual grays.

Masked the 109E canopy and shot some green on it.  I have to play around with the 109D canopy some more though.  It's a vacuform canopy.

I got some paint on the undersides of the 109D and 109E.  Not very exciting but its progress.

Very nice, Ed!  I've liked the 1939-era camouflage on Me-109's.  I'd have to check the front page to be sure, but I think I built one in 1/72 for this GB back when it started.  Good alternative to the mottle finish.

Yikes, Tony!  Individual tracks.  I haven't built any armor since the day when they were one piece rubbery stuff.  Hope it goes well.

You can never have enough 109s Ed, that should be a nice build. I'm happy to report progress on my Panzer II. I now have a little snap loc bag of individual track links, all ready to use. That's the worst part done, Cheers Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

And for some reason I started another kit.  It's the old 1/48 Monogram Me 109E so it works with the decals I have for Poland.  I will be building the 109E as Red 14 to go along with White 3.

Good enough, Tony.  I've updated the front page.  It's a nice choice.  Looking forward to seeing it go together.

That looks like a difficult build Ed, but it will be well worth it.

CMK, I thought I should get back to this GB. At the ripe old age of 52 I seem to have developed a Panzer II habit. I'd like to change my build from the Airfix Spitfire to this please.

I've just made a start :)

Cheers

Tony

Chugging along on the Ventura Me 109.  The fit isnt all that great so this is going to take a while.  Not sure if they are still aroung but Ventura was out of New Zealand.

I've not heard of Ventura before.  Hope the construction goes well for you.

Glad I didnt pay big money on the batch of Ventura kits I picked up.  They do have recessed lines but the sprues are very crude lacking other detail.  There are no shelves, pins or slots to help guide you in essembly and there are items you have to scratch build.

Going with white 10 which is actually a 109D but from what I can tell the only differance from a C is a more powerfull version of the Jumo 210 engine.  Seems like the 109Cs were relegated to training squadrons and the 109Ds were quickly swaped out for 109Es.  The Ds went to night and training squadrons relativly quickly.

Good selection, GT.  109B/C's don't get as much attention as some of the others.

Thanks for your participation in the GB.  I'm looking forward to see your work!

Hey checkmate, I'd like to go ahead and enter this GB with a kit I am also doing for another GB elsewhere on a Facebook modelling group. The theme is the 1939 invasion of Poland, so it fits this timeframe. It's a Revell kit, 1/35 scale Pzkpfw. 35(t).

Tomcat

No, I don't have a preference but I think the second picture or the last one might be best. I leave it to you expert discretion.

Thanks for noticing!!!  Big Smile

"Expert discretion" leads me to agree about the second photo.  It shows a little more of the overall plane, including the rear fuselage than the last one.  Both are nice, but. . .!

Very nice, Mark.  You did a great job finishing off this vintage kit.  Extremely nice finish!

Do you have a preference for the finish-build photo?

Thanks for taking part in the GB.  I look forward to seeing the other entries you're working on.
