It should be a beautiful example, Steve.  Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Thanks!

A little story behind it.  My grandparents bought a '36 Chevy 4 door sedan in 1936.  Must have been doing pretty well.  It's the first car my dad remembers.  There is no kit for a '36, but I found this in the LHS a while ago.  I'm not going to try to convert it to a sedan, but will do it as close as possible to what he remembers, color and interior wise.

Welcome to the GB, SteveCB!  Yes, your entry is fine.  I'm sure a '37 Chevy would be around in '39.  Slick looking car!  Good to have you with us!

I've updated the build roster.

The way I read the rules, this should be ok, an AMT 1937 Coupe.

I am building the stock version.

Just barely started on the engine.

If it's a no go, I can put it in the autos section.  Thanks

Nick, good looking progress on that Junkers.

Yes, the 70/71 scheme is a pretty low contrast one.  I'd say  the Tamiya paints are likely off in terms of both colour and darkness - as a whole the Tamiya colours are not a direct match to RLM chips.

Interesting story here of a Luftwaffe vet showing a couple models he built usuaing actual war time paint.

Looks good Nick. I think the Tamiya colours seem to similar, I've had that problem on one of my models too. I little more distinction between the colours looks a lot better so good on you for remasking over those corrugations.

I've got it in my plan to do an Italeri Ju 52 sometime soonish, as part of my collection of German types in French colours. That's an old kit too.

I think you've done about as well as anyone could with that old kit.

Cheers

Tony

Nick, I think what you did enhances the contrast between the colors.  They are more noticeably distinct.  Looks good!

And how in the world did you deal with all those corrugations on the wings!?  That must have been a job and a half!

I've been attempting to restore everyone's finished build photos, but have been unable to do so with some.

I had to buy a new computer when the old one unexpectedly died, and apparently the Geek Squad was unable to move all the photos from the old laptop to the new one.  I have restored the photos that did come over from the old computer.

PhotoBucket will not now allow me to copy photos from there, so I cannot restore them here.  Won't even let me copy back to my laptop.

If any participants whose photos I've lost will repost, I will then add them to the finished GB roster.

Sorry for the inconvenience; PB is obviously much more deplorable than I thought.

Thanks.

Wayne:  I agree about PB.  Fortunately I had the badges on the computer, but then that died; but Geek Squad retrieved them for the new one.

I'll add you to the build roster, but what's a BA-10? Confused

Please let me know the scale, too, and I'll include that too.

Good to have you with us.  Looking forward to seeing your build.

i had to go dig out an old 1/72 GB badge from my files and update it to 2017. PB screwed up a lot of things. since this is still open i just started a HobbyBoss BA-10.

Yes

If that's what it takes, stik!

I can't say that my own production rate has been real good this year. Wilted Flower

It's a nice kit, Tony.  I'm very fond of Spitfires, and the Airfix recent-mold builds up very well.  I'll add you to the roster, and look forward to seeing your progress.

stik:  don't worry; you've got three years yet to start--and finish! Yes

I never got my early War builds started, let alone completed... Embarrassed

But at least I did complete my 1942 build... Yes

Thanks CMK. For me nothing says 1940 like the Battle of Britain. I'll pick a Spitfire Mk 1, 1/72 Airfix newish release, unless I get distracted onto something else. Haha. Cheers Tony

I see that the Photobucket fiasco eliminated the GB badge.  I will get onto reposting it as soon as I can, as well as the '41 badge--which I imagine has also fallen off the twig.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, it's still open, Tony.  I plan to add builds myself when I can.  You are more than welcome to come in.

This GB is scheduled to run until 2020, but there haven't been any posts in a while. I want to check if it's still active before entering. Cheers Tony
