That came out very well, Josiah. Nice, smooth paintwork!
Got the paint on. It was done in three layers. An almost black green, the base color, and a few (maybe a little too many) drops of white added to replicate the fading. Painted it by mixing craft acrylics that I bought this weekend. Trying to practice mixing colors for the figures when I graduate to oils. Green isn't quite the hue/tone I wanted it to be but for first time mixing my own colors I'm happy with it. The fading is a little too light, almost looks like a winter vehicle, BUT I'm sure when I weather with the dot filters it'll darken it down. Outside and indoors.

Steps in the right direction!
Nice work, Josiah! Looks like everything spliced together very well.
Update on the figure:

And here he is posed in the turret:
I see that the latest issue with postimage.org has wiped out the GB badge and finish-photos again, so I'll get right on replacing them.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Nice job on the Ju 52 and Me 109e gents, both very nicely finished.
Good and rapid progress Josiah.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
"We learn by doing," said Admiral Kirk. Glad you had the fortitude to try this! Good for you!
Sure hope it works! You are braver than I am!
Radical surgery on the figure, Josiah! I'm sure he'll recover, and I admire your courage!
Looks good. I like the way you've stuffed in the tissue to make the tracks sag. That's a novel technique I don't think I've seen before.
Got started on the wheels/tracks today. All wheels are done, port side tracks done...not easy, but easier than I thought it'd be. I've never done any other than vinyl/rubber band tracks.
Thanks guys!
I've started the figure. Never modified figures before (and I've painted only a few) so this will be interesting. But I figure (haha figure!) the TC won't be seen as much so it'll be a good learning experience. Ordered a Japanese figure too. Resin...another first.
Really good, Josiah.
I have only used PE on ships, but they don't always fit very well, either, even for the kits they are designed for. I don't think the gaps around the exhausts are noticeable enough to bother with, but sometimes you can use diluted white glue and fill in. Then, after painting, run a black wash in there, and it looks like it's supposed to be that way.
Whatever you do, I think it's looking fine. Nice job!
Thanks guys, I've gotten quite a bit done in a relatively short amount of building time. The only real fit problems lie with the engine intakes. The PE is both too wide and too long so it won't fit right onto the hull without some gaps. Thinking back on it the fix would've been to build up around the PE with small strips of styrene and that would've helped. But alas, first time really using PE on a kit so I didn't think of that when I needed to. Anyways here's the progress. First pic is so you can see the small gaps of the intakes.
And now here is where the build currently lies at.
Neatly done, Josiah. It's looking good!
Yes it does
Nick.
Started it today, worked for 2 hours got through all the way to the road wheels. Builds pretty nice so far
Sounding good, Josiah. Looking forward to seeing your progress photos!
checkmateking02 Excellent work, tj. Effective weathering, and outstanding finish. I haven't seen use of yellow like that, so it's really a standout. Do you want to go with the first photo for the finish-roster?
