No worries, I did have to cheat a bit and check up on it. I really must build an 88 soon, I have a few in the stash but none built and I really like this aircraft.

I appreciate the info Bish, I knew that you would be the one to ask! Yea I guess they were just trying to set the mood for a historical era and the plight they had to endure. Thanks again Bish, Good to have someone with your knowledge to turn to.

Nice work on the 88 Doug. I have not been to Hendon in years, and by years I mean since the early 80's. I should really try and pay a visit.

So I checked there site. The 88 there is an R-1, which was a version of the C but with BMW engines. It did not enter service until 1943, so really it should not be in the battle of Britain hall or in that scheme. But I guess its as close as they could get. Museums don't seem to worry to much about being historically accurate. Also in that hal is a Ju 87G, He 111H-20 and Bf 110G-2. But again I guess they ere the closet they could get.

While in The UK a few years back we visited several museums, and at the Royal Air Force Museum they had a Ju88 on display along with several other Luftwaffe aircraft. And yes indeed, it was a big birdie. I think this one had the BMW engines and was used during the London Blitz. It had been beautifully restored, Maybe Bish would be able to add a bit more on this topic. All in all, a beautiful museum and a must see if ever in the UK.

OK all... a bit more assy done...

Now the fun begins.... Wonder how many times I can knock these off before finishing?

Well that's about all for now... Lets see, Got her standing on legs, Of course we installed flame dampers, Got the nose guns installed. These are pieces of plasti struct with the tips filed to look like the MG17 barrels and 1- 20mm  made from round plastistruct and pieces of brass tubing, Thanks to the creator of helping hands! couldn't have installed FuG220 Radar diopters without! And the crew entry hatch had to be fabricated from spare parts being none was supplied . Thanks for looking and more this weekend!

Thanks

Thanks guys... I would like to have it near beginnings of the paint stage when I get the repair kit for my airbrush in, It started blowing air back into the reservoir causing bubbles and foamy paint, which makes for a crappy paint job. I think its just a seal kit and if it doesn't arrive soon I'll break out the ole tried and true Paasche VLS. I just don't use it much any more because I got spoiled by the gravity feed, over the siphon gun. Oh well... we'll see... Thanks again guys.

I HATE wing roots, they are my Nemesis. Those and stabilizer roots.

Well since my AB is on the fritz right now, I'll just do some assy on the JU88...

OK, this is my first real issue with this kit, The wing roots did not line up well at all, a bit of trimming and fitting had to be done and dry fitting was a must until I got them to fit right, In all, the gaps are not as bad as this picture makes them look, but still not good.

Tis all for now... Its actually starting to look like something...

Just going over the instructions on my Dragon Ju88G-6. I think this is the first time I've been told to put weight in the tail on a tail dragged. Are they thinking the weight of the cockpit is going to make it nose heavy

MC... You have a deal sir! I'm in!!! (please remind me as it nears) Memory and all you know,,, They say that's the first thing to go... LOL!

Thank you all for the kind words!

Johnny, I really do try not to do two builds at once, (only Clemens has that mastered) But what I do is place every thing from one on a appropriate sized piece of 3/8 ply wood and set it aside, then load the other on the bench... Organized??? You've seen my bench in the pictures... Does that look organized??? LOLOL... Thanks again all for the kind words, and Mike (TB) I agree whole heartedly. With most all the major components assembled and the pieces laid out in order of assy, you do start to get an idea of how shes going to look. Next (after assy. is my least favorite part of the build... The dreaded "fiddly parts" installation. Course after that is my favorite part, paint and detailing. Take care all...

RR -- looking very good! It's an amazing stage when a model starts to come together and you can start to see what she's going to look like. Impressive!

Looking good Doug,

I'm watching your 109 at the same time.

Man, you've got a really organized bench there.

* Warning: Advertisement/Propaganda *

Since your so interested in bombers, I have a "Boeing Build" coming up in June. You may want to ponder a
B 1, 17, 29, 47, 52, etc.

You know... when we were kids, the fighter planes were so cool, ( by this time mainly jets) and every kid wented to be a fighter pilot.....except me, not that I didnt love the fighters too but to me there as nothing like a bomber. The British Lancaster, and Wellington, the American 17s and 24s ( my personal favorite ) and of coures the German He111 and Ju88a. So being most of these night fighters are mainly converted bombers and heavy fighters, I'm having a ball!

Always did like seeing that "pea shooter" hanging from the underside of the Ju88, in this case inside the gondola, but still.  Good luck! Hope you find one Clemens! Sorry , I don't know why the pictures are not in the sequence I uploaded in...

AJ... so far so good, Other then some very minor fit issues there has been no trouble. Now if I were to have a complaint, it would be with the instructions, They can be a tad bit hard to decipher, and the part numbers don't always match the actual sprue number. Easily remedied by looking at the individual sprue pictures in the beginning of the instructions. BUT... That would be my only complaint if I were complaining! LOL...

Hey Clemens, those are the Air Scale Luftwaffe 1/48 scale instrument and placards. (2 separate sheets) I love the decals! They aren't the greatest at sticking, but just a touch of micro-sol to suck em down and a drop of clear to simulate glass and they make for a pretty convincing looking IP.

Lookin' good, Doug! Did you use the kit decals for the IP?
