Nice work Jack, I love the pins in the wings- seems like an excellent idea to get both the dihedral right as well as add some needed reinforcement to weak areas in the wing. 

Great looking builds happening in here guys, and thanks for the comments on my initial posting on this little project. 

Finally was able to dedicate some time to the bench, and this is where I'm at.  Removing the extra resin on the bottom sides of the fuselage halves wasn't that bad.  Using a sewing needle in a pin vise, I just scored the edges many times until it was thin enough to snap off.

The interior colour is just a home brew based on what I've read on the net, so can't vouch for how accurate it is:

Yeap, IPMS Roanoke. I was thinking about it last night and it does seem the only really active clubs are Lynchburg, Richmond, Tidewater, and the DC area. You're always welcome to drop by one of our meetings if you're ever in the area.

Hey Bsyamato- this is the new and improved forum! They took the site down yesterday to change to the newer format. Not too happy with it myself but will give the FSM people time to work on the problems here.

Great updates about veichles Wayne and Cliff, they looks cool!

I totally freezed my lots of builds for excessive hotness, so i picked up two helos to build something in a speedy way withouth modifications and.. one are the OH-6D from italeri, almost done in about three days

Looks good to me Wayne, a few pin washes and a little mud on the tires and you're pretty much done! A small dio with the chopper would look cool.

one thing i will do in the future is paint the edge of the windows black so the thickness is hidden a bit.

decals were amusing maybe because i don't like doing them and get impatient. one slipped on me and i damaged it moving it back. not too badly as it's a Japanese character at 1/72 so there is more forgiveness with broken "text". also some silvering again my fault. first time i airbrushed a flat coat and, like Vallejo paint, it looks much better after it dries. now for the fun part, washes and weathering. i  think one front tire sits .5mm off the ground after fixing the differential i broke so a base is due. if i can find one of the JASDF or JGSDF CH-47s i will use that and dust up the truck from rotor wash. 

Ok, the treads are on the Type 3 and I added some streaking and rust, not sure I totally like it though...

Got my entry sorted out, the Nakajima A4N1, which is another resin kit from Choroszy in 1/72 scale.

The usual cleanup is involved with these types of kits, but particularly the fusealge bottoms on this one - resin is fairly thick here.    Note too, no location holes for the struts and braces, interesting ...

since this is a ground force fuel truck and not an air force fuel truck, i am leaning toward a helo or M-22, preferably a CH-47. if i do a wingie thingie i am looking at an F-104, F-1, F-2, or F-22

painted. upper is Vallejo  olive gray which ls close to Tamiya JGSDF od. chassis is black. canvas top is a Vallejo german green which also looks close to Tamiya JGSDF green. mirrors wont be on until after decals and most of the weathering because i know i will knock them off. learned a lot for the next OTS builds
