Still pleanty of time!

• Don’t trust the color call-outs.
• The model is a general representation of the set as seen on television. Anything resembling accuracy is purely an accident.
• The decals included in my kit are thick and are inconsistently cut – they don’t always match up to the location they’re assigned to be applied. Set aside a lot of time to trim the decals before applying (measure twice, cut once).
• A lot of parts don’t fit well (i.e. the consoles won’t align and don’t fit together well).

 Stay alert and take your time and plan ahead.

Looks pretty cool to me Beans! Guess the fit issues aren't too surprising in a forty year old kit, still I understand your frustration. I've got three of the older versions in my stash and am hoping to do something with them someday. There's a really nice aftermarket set, it has translucent parts for the screens so you can light them and I think a few other items like the helm station's viewer. I've seen it on Ebay, I need to pick one up before it goes out of production.

I don't want to sound like I'm whining and complaining. I knew what I was getting myself into. Minor set backs and compensating for poor production goes with the territory with these older kits.

It's a nostelgic thing I need to do. I know I'll dig'em when they're displayed on the shelf.

When it's all said and done I'd like to know that I put my effort forward regardless of trying to build a model that doesn't want to be built.

Overall, the kit's been fun. I just want to throw a "heads up" for anyone that wants build this kit.

Your bridge is looking very nice so far! Paragrafix makes a nice PE/Decal set for this kit. Your too far along now, but if you decide to do another.

I know what you mean Beans, you'd expect the consoles to at least fit together without a gap.

Well, I'm done with 'Bones' though there are a few things I might go back and change like maybe I should tone down his lips???

Edit: Ok, I went back and deleted my former rant about PhotoBucket. It seems to be sorta working now but wants to crash on editing photosI had to laugh about them giving Bones a transporter pad base along with the other figures considering how much he hated the thing. So for a little fun here Scotty has 'lubed' the good doctor up to get him on the pad...

Yeah the lips are a little too red but it is WAAAY better than I could do. Fantastic job . I figure Bones just kissed Joan Collins or something. I’ll get you up on the wall. Which picture did you want?

By the way Gamera, take a look at Imageshack. That's the service PJ, Hunter and I use. You have to pay for an account, but we have had very few issues and none since they fixed their site a few months back, in fact since they fixed their site and required a payed account to use it the way we do, the customer service has been exemplary.

Taking Steve's advice to join Imageshack was great advice to follow....very easy and user friendly. I started out with PhotoBucket and had nothing but trouble. It cost $38.00 for a 1 year subscription.....Well worth it.

Steve: Thanks! Actually if you don't mind waiting I think I'll see about toning down the lips and maybe fixing a few other issues I see in the photos that I didn't see in the figure in front of me and then retake the photos. 

Steve & Hunter: Thanks again! I'll check out ImageShack. Heck, I'm paying more than thirty-eight bucks a month for my ISP.

Sorry, been running around and still haven't gotten his lips repainted or new photos yet. 

And thanks for the advice on Imgur, frankly I haven't had a chance to look at them or ImageShack yet either but I am when I get the time. 

Ok, I went back and fixed the photos above, somehow I posted a few of them twice. 

Still undecided on the lips, haven't repainted them yet. I thought about trying to blend the skin tones a little better with a light misting of flesh over the face but in person there doesn't look like nearly as much contrast.

So I think I'm going to leave him as is for the time being. Steve, if you don't mind please use the top photo from the front.

PS: I looked over the ImageShack and Imgur sites. The both look pretty promising but since I already have a pile of stuff on PB I'm going to try sticking it out with them a little longer. I've found Pale Moon tends not like sites with lots of video ads and thinking that using a different browser with PB might cure a bunch of my issues.  

PPS: Final question, going to post him over in the rest of the website but does he go on the figure forum or the SF/Fantasy one????
