I'm very interested in this GB.  I have a 1/48 Eduard Bf 110D I'd love to start.  I'm just not sure it qualifies.  None of the markings that come with the kit are for any A/C that operated during the BoB.  Would this kit qualify for this GB?  Thanks.

Andy:

I've also read "Fighter Boys" a couple of times.  What an absorbing book!  It really draws you in.

"Finding the Few" and "Finding the Foe" are also pretty fascinating.  They are about the recovery and identification of missing planes and pilots, years after the close of the BoB and the War itself.

I'd love to get in this one. I've been itching to do a spitfire since I got back into the hobby. I actually happened to grab "Fighter Boys" by Patrick Bishop off the bookshelf to reread a little while ago. Should serve as some good inspiration!

CMK, that is a spectacular badge, I love it.

I'd like to be in this as well, but I'm not ready to fully commit at this point. I have kind of an emotional connection to the BoB, and I'd love to commemorate it as well.

Great to hear this is a going ahead, lewbud!  Looking very much forward to it!

I will contribute a 1/72 Airfix Hurricane.

I was thinking of hosting a BoB GB, if no one else announced one--so I'm glad you did.  It's a far too important event to let pass without a commemoration.

In fact, I created a badge a while ago.  You are welcome to use it--or not.  I certainly don't mean to intrude or give offense.  Consider it a contribution to the cause.

I can re-size it smaller if necessary.

Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary GB
Posted by lewbud on Thursday, April 16, 2015 12:02 AM

This year is the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.  In honor of the Few, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group build.  Start date will be 10 July and end on 18 December 2015, when Hitler issued the directive abandoning the invasion of Britain.  All scales are welcome.  Crossovers are welcome.  As much or as little aftermarket detail as you see fit.  Started builds less than 10% complete.  The badge is available in Checkmateking02's post below.
