Is the "resin technique" explained earlier in this thread, or elsewhere? I've been thinking of something similar for the Boeing, and have no clue how to do that part.

I will be building the 1/72 Minicraft PBM-5A Martin Marnier later this year for the OTS GB, can you put me down for that one as well?

OK all, I'm done messin with this and I'm calling it done.
Like I said earlier, the resin technique will work well as long as you don't use "Amazing Cast" two part resin. I used the "Clear Cast Polyester Resin" as the last pour and was happy with the results. The only thing I'm not happy with is that I had to remove the amazing cast because it didn't dry and that caused some blemishes under the top layer. I will try it again with the lessons learned under my belt.

The Hasegawa Rufe was a simple nice build. I sprayed aluminum as a base and then went over that with a spray of AK Interactive Worn Effects which sprayed straight from the bottle without any problems. I finished that up with the exterior color and it was a simple matter of "washing" the exterior paint off and in some instances I used tape to pull it off.

I hope you enjoy it and as usual comments and critiques are welcome.

No, it hasn't been entered into the GB yet, you’re the first. In fact, the only other time I've seen it is from RobS, but he's doing it for the Going Big GB.

I really want to jump on this GB as my opener for my first float plane. I would also like to tackle my first biplane and WWI subject. Thus, I am seriously considering the WingNut Wings W.12.  Has this been done yet by the group?  Would love to put this in a water dio too. Still on the fence as I want to finish up my current project. But I am thinking this smaller plane will not take nearly as long as my current 1/32nd Revell JU88A1 with Eduard PE galore has taken. Thoughts?

Tail feathers are done. Spray shield around bow and behind rear step. Shortened nacelles to get them to look right, added firewalls, eliminated toy like bow cleat and antenna.

I think I might try to start my Goose this weekend.  Weather is gotten really warm and a lot to do on the house and other projects, so we will see.  Scott

Hello gentlemen - 

Well my goodies finally got here and I was more excited than I young boy at Christmas when my wife called me to inform me they arrived. So, I couldn't wait so I had her open the box and take and send me the photos. I need to finish my Japanese Zero before I can start on "Big Bertha" the Albatross. No way I'm ready to have multiple builds going at one time 

I just discovered this thread today, and it's another that ties in with my current budding project. For the Boeing Build I'm preparing tools and stuff for a scratchbuilt Boeing Model 1.

It's also going in the newest 1/72 GB, and the Scratchbuilding GB. What I'm not sure of yet is which forum to post my own building log, since the minute details are too many for every day showing in the GB threads.

Holey moley, that is some serious outline correction going on there!

I'd better nut up and start my Seamaster - the shape issues look nothing like that!

 

Similar reshaping on the horizontal stab. The Lindberg kit is based on an unknown prototype that was radically changed for production. The interior has mounts for batteries and a small motor to drive the wheels and propellers. These will all go away.

Well....I was toying with my build today. The Italeri Ju52. I bought this year's ago in a bargain bin. Never opened the box til now. It has been started obviously by a 7 year old. Gobs of glue everywhere. Broken pieces. Fuselage has been put together without the interior. So I tried gently pulling things apart. Broke it all. There was only one thing to do buy another one. It we I'll be here on Wednesday

I'd like to join up if I could. Kit is KP's 1/72 Piper L-4H on floats. It comes with two spiffy schemes, one a red and white USAF bird, the other a silver and red Swiss bird. May go with a civilian scheme, who knows.

Less than 30 built, but they entered service!  I had to look this one up, as I always thought it was just a prototype like the Seamaster.

Amodel kits aren't the easiest kits to build, but it would deffinitely be easier than a Mach-Poo.  Oh dang, I want one now!
