Secret Santa GB 2016 !!!

If you guys could let me know who has NOT yet shipped gifts in a PM and also those who have not yet recieved their gift in a PM I can look into things. I think most are ready, but I think some are still waiting.

The package I sent (for Santa) arrived at it's destination on the 8th...nothing arrived here yet....oh no, I must be on the naughty list too.  LOL!

Haven't received anything yet but there's still plenty of time. 

Was told by our host that my giftee's had arrived, and mine came couple of weeks ago.  Keeps testing my resolve not to open the shipping box, but am holding out no matter what.

I found out many,many years ago the system is rigged against the human male.  You just go with the flow and hunker down and try to avoid the incoming and shrapnal.

I think my secret Santa gift arrived today.  I genuinely couldn't think of any kit or accessory I had ordered.  I had a tough time explaining this to my wife as I tried to tell her I hadn't ordered anything ( truthfully this time..........I think).  I do believe she's heard the tale of the immaculate delivery before.

Even tougher to try and explain buying a kit you don't have and never had or will have.

I will have to wait until after the first of January to find out what special gift I've received. I leave on Saturday to Australia and do not get back until after the New Year.

I'm working really hard to get the gift from last year finished before the new kit arrives for this build. Last years kit was this Mig-23 in a red/black/light grey show aircraft scheme. I had hoped it was going to look amazing. I pulled it off the shelf the other night and hit it with a coat of Aqua Gloss and the red paint started running off into the grey and totally ruined the paintjob. I gave up on that scheme and will now be doing the other option for the kit in camo for the Polish Air Force. Fortunately, good ammonia based Windex made quick work of the rest of the paint and gave me a fresh canvas to start from. Here's a picture of the kit, as was before the red paint was added in the previous build attempt.

Got the kit for my person this weekend.  I'll be sending it out today.  LOL!  I liked the kit I got them....I picked one up for me!!!  Merry Christmas!  :)

My gift arrived last night, delivered by an elf in blue USPS livery.  Our host let me know that Santa had not indicated if it was wrapped for the tree, so it will remain in the plain brown wrapper for another 3 weeks.  Will be fun and interesting to see what Santa selected.

My giftee should be getting a delivery from an elf in brown come Monday.

The names have been assigned and PM's have been sent. If I miss anyone in the PM department let me know in a PM ASAP.

ROLLOVERS from any build left over from last year's Secret Santa, regardless of progress, WILL be allowed. We want to see all those kits done.

Get your gifts ordered and sent to your giftee as soon as possible so everyone has their gift under the tree in time for X-Mas.

I don't see any problem with having some carry over from the previous year. The point of this GB is the spirit of the season and watching those gifts come together. Personally, I would like to see them all done, so bringing over 2015 kits into the 2016 build will be perfectly acceptable.

And I'm sure that the Santa's that sent them would be appreciative and like to see them finished as well.  Nice call on carrying them over.

I have to sadly admit, I was one who has not finished last years kit, it sits about 60% next to the bench. I could probably complete it as soon as I return after the first of the year. I just need to put on the small fiddly bits and then gloss coat the thing and then add the decals and another gloss coat.

Only ten days left to get in on the surprise under the tree.  Kind of thin so far, only 8 on the roster.

The roster is beginning to grow. This looks like it's gonna be a another fun GB.
