This is the finished Finnish F2A2 not very accerate but lots of fun from Start to end. t

The paints are tamiya with masters touch oil wash and aeromaster decals. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1732/42801023691_e18c763065_b.jpg

Hi,

Your build looks great (especially the paint job), and as I understand it, most the external differences between the B239 and B339 version of the plane aren't really all that big, so its probably not really very much inaccurate at all. Smile

Nick, she looks pretty cool there in Finnish markings. Yes

Inspires me to get one  done up like this too, but on a captured Russian bird.

regards,

Jack

Great work, Nick.  You truly did a fantastic job.  And you are especially to be commended for that canopy and under-fuselage window.

Which photo do you like for the front page?  They all look good.

Another model with an outstanding finish Nick. I've built that kit years ago as an RAAF one, and its not an easy kit to get a great result from.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

BTW I like the 3rd pic from the top . now I can work on the B-24 for 1943.

Check.
Since the Hurricane fell through due to wrong parts/fit issue, can I make it up with the 1/35 Hobby Boss Fieseler Storch in Regia Aeronautica colors?

Sure can, Steve.  I've updated the build roster to reflect the Fieseler.

That's a very delicate, fragile-looking aircraft.

Here is the pit and engine during assembly. I'm adding detail to the engine.

I got the interior in, halves together and engine installed. I need to hook up a few more random hoses, linkages and tubes to make it look plausable.

Great start, Steve.  Gonna keep my eye on this one.  This is a bird I want to do some day, and you do great work with "fiddly stuff"!

Very nice, Steve.  Going together very well.

What kind of glue/cement are you using for these fiddly pieces?

Thanks for the information, Steve.  Some of the CA I've gotten lately hasn't worked so well; might have got hold of old stock.

I use Bob Smith Industries thick and thin. I buy the large refills from eBay and they last for years. I use the same bottles and just need to replace the nozzles on occasion.

Good to hear.  I just bought some Bob Smith superglue when I got some varied types to try out.

It's good stuff. I've been using it for modeling plastic and wood for 20 years. It's never let me down as far as quality.

I added all the little bits to the wings. Once everything dries I'll spray a little more light blue (RLM-76) to the underside. Once that's done I'll spray the sand yellow and camo on the wings and finish installing the slats and flaps. The kit's wings look like they were designed to be removed for transport which is fantastic, so I'll finish them up before moving on to the fuse. The huge canopy comes with masks which is also fantastic. So far this has been a great and enjoyable build.
