Two filling and sanding sessions later to get rid of the step and fill in the ugly wing root joint. Going to have to prime this and fill some more I think.

Funny thing is I built one of these way back when and don't remember the wings fitting like this. Nothing is warped or anything. Its like the fuselage molds were not properly made to fit the wings.

I've wondered about things like this, too, from time to time and kit to kit.  It's almost like something happens to the mold after a few years.

Some progress of the 111. I'm kind of just winging the white and black finish on this so we will see how it comes out.

Thanks, I thought I was going to continue painting today on my day off but I hit a snag. I forgot the landing light and the opening for this didn't line up well on the two wing halves so I had to do some cutting and filing there. I did lay down some yellow for the theater stripe though.

Nice work on the camouflage uppers, Ed.  Very nicely and deftly done!

Going to sit down and do some dot filtering to clear my mind.

Well, it didn't clear me head out but I did get some work done on the upper side of the 111.

Here just the wings are done and you can see the difference between the filter on the wings compaired to the fuselage.

I think I have to hit the fuselage some more.

Very effective work, Ed!  Are those oil paints?

Yes, cheap store brand oils and I used odorless Terpenoid to blend the dots. The odorless Terpenoid works the same as turpentine without that harsh lingering smell. The process is still relatively new to me with trial and error as to which colors to use on the different base colors.  I probably could have gotten away with less dots but I'm still learning.

Well, you applied it really well, Ed.  It adds a lot of interest to the white camouflage.

Still working on the 111 but it looks like I just have the guns and gear doors left.

Better late then never I guess. Here is my glider tug turned transport on the eastern front in 1942. I went with a subtle brown on the underside for the exhaust since the German fuel was coal based and I didn't want to over do it.

Looks great, Ed!  Outstanding paint work and weathering.

Do you have a preference for the finish photo?  They're all good.

Thanks for being part of the GB!

Yeah, not bad for a first time winter white wash and black aircraft. Kind of a toss up between the 1st and 2nd I guess but you can surprise me!

Done, Ed!  I picked the one I thought showed up best all that glass work you had to mask on the nose, as well as the great camouflage work.  Nice job!

Thanks again for joining in the GB.
