Mawright: Progress is looking great so far! Man these are cool lookin' birds aint they??!!

Andy: Superb paint work!!!! Just cant get over the effect factor here.

Bish: You're almost at the finish line there bubba!!! Lovin' it!!

Everybody: Here the cockpit is all black based:

I managed to shoot a base coat of RLM 66 emamel on and hit the highlights with a little acrylic RLM 66 with a drop of white in it on the high points. I set that aside to dry and then hit it with a coat of Tamiya Clear and allowed that to dry. I followed that up with a wash of MIG Productions dark wash lightened some so as not to be overbearing with it. After that dried under a lamp for a while I brought out all the details and dry brushed some silver over the corners and over some of the more frequently used controls through out the side consoles. I then went over everything with a coat of MM flat clear with a drop of grey in it to give the sun faded look. I still have to install the instruments at the R/H front console and at the upright panel at the front of the L/H console and then it'll be down to the PE details, resin pieces like the control yoke and seat with belts and then the main instrument panel. There's alot more stuff I didn't mention but the list is just too dang long. You get the picture though(no pun intended).

Mustang, Thanks for the feedback. I have an affinty for twin engine, twin-tail airplanes (collection of B-25s!). Soemtime I'll have to add the JU-88, and Beaufighter to the mix. Getting close on the -410, only now realize there's no windows/etc! One problem that can be seen in the front view pic is that the airplane seems bent/tweaked to the left. Doubt very highly this was the case with the real thing. Dont know if the kit was warped or just dried bent during assembly.

Holy Crap! Is there ever some BEAUTIFUL work going on here!!! I'm sorry I have fallen so far behind, There have just been too many "Irons in the fire" as of late, but I have just recently fully retired from my previously "partial retirement" which I think actually created more work in the long run, and I can start now and try to catch up. Incredible level of skill and talent here... Any way, I am building an Me262 Night Fighter, its the Revell History Maker kit. I am not this time doing a greatly detailed and rivit counters build this one, I am just going to achive a decent over all look of an aircraft of the time. This kit leaves much to be desired as far as detail goes, and I am looking to the release of the New RMX release locally of the same subject , but it still has not arrived here. So heres what I have so far...

Well , Thats it for now, as I said, nothing special, Mainly going to be OOB with some Aftermarket decals and a touch of pe and resin. More in a bit... Take care all!

Doug

Great to see you here. Looks like you are making great progress on your night fighter.

A couple of days ago I ordered the new 1/32 ROG 262 nighfighter that looks to be a real jewel and was only $32 from Sprue Bros. That's coming along with decals for my 1/32 Salamander.

Excellent looking pit Joe. That resin really sets it off.

PJ... Thanks bud... Yeah, I've heard nothing but good about that release, even the engines are said to be very well detailed. I have one ordered from my LHS and should be here soon for around the price you stated. Can't wait to get it...

Rooster, Thank you also for the kind words. As I said, on this build I'm not being picky, picky. Just trying to get back into tbe groove. Its been a hideous year thus far, and now that things are calming down, I decided just to go for over all look and possibly go all out in the near future on one.

Thanks again

I know what you mean Doug. Sometimes you just need to get one completed to get yourself in the groove again. Hope the rest of the year turns around for you buddy.

Time to wrap this up. The final stage was adding canopy engine undercarrage and a few finaltouches and then get them on there bases. For the Dragon kit a very simple dio. The engine intake is shown in several colours and i went for the red option as i rather like that.

And thats it. Thanks for running this one, a great GB. I'll be following along with the rest of the builds and hopfully will be fitting in an Ar 234 at the end of the year.

Hi Bish, excellent build and great looking presentation. Yes

I like how some of the ground mimics the brown of the aircraft, that helps tie it all together.

Great finish Bish... I always admire what you can do with your "OTS" kits, and your signature bases always look good! I'll start my "Tiffy" for your GB soon, but as I said earlier, it was a hectic start to the new year, but is finally starting to calm dwn.  See ya !!!

Thnaks Jack. It was not intentional but has worked out well.

Thanks guys, its much appreciated. Thought i would keep this dio small and simple as it fits in with the aircraft, that and i needed a break from multipule kits.

Doug, glad its calming down for you and look forward to seeing that Tiffy when you can. Off to a god star on the 262, can't wait to see more.

Well. got alot done yesterday, it was a quiet day, and my wife had to work, so no pestering from anyone, or anything. I like those kind of days... Heres some more WIP...

Wing sections and upper engine housings assembled, there will be a little putty work to do, but surprisingly very little from the looks of it.

Just a slight pressure to hold a slight gap closed while glue sets.

Moving right along.. Engines together, canopy taped and installed. I still need to file fit all the assembled pieces to give them a cleaner look. Gotta be careful not to disturb the panel lines or atleast be able to re scribe or recreate them if damaged.

As I said earlier, looks like very little putty work will be required.

Cut out those stupid indents and added ejection ports for spent shells, and opened up the gun ports. Really, if your going to go to the trouble of indicating them with an indent... Just open them up...

Well, everything filed and finish sanded to a cleaner looking fit. Used Qtips and Nail polish remover, (a cheap source of acetone) to soften and smooth putty. Saves on loads of sanding and smoothing.  Thats about it for now... I can see already that I'm going to regret not doing more with Pit. Any way, Have a great day and Keep the Great Work Coming!

PJ, Handi, Bish... Thanks guys... Means alot coming from a talanted group like this. Yeah PJ, You have me Chawing at the bit to get mine now. ROG doing some great things now. Everything I've seen from them has been leagues ahead of the old Revell releases. Any way, I have about 90% of paint done now, again, a quiet day yesterday. So heres where were at now...

Black over all base coat going on...

The "Squiggle" done now... It took about an hour and a half. I used the .2mm airbrush and used a Sky Grey Tamiya acrylic over the Tamiya semi gloss black base coat to do this. I use acrylics almost exclusively and mainly use Lacquer thinner to thin with. Later I'll switch to a 91% iso-propol alcohol.

Well other then applying the Gloss Pledge floor care, thats it. Now we just sit and dry good for a day or so. Thanks for looking... Decals next...
