Bish

PJ, i hope you didn't get the bathroom and bedroom scheme mixed up with your Spit scheme.

I convinced my wife to paint the living room to match my reproduction US Army WWII (Parsons) "M-41" field jacket, maybe OD #3.  Took the jacket to the paint store for a custom mix, to make sure the color was right.  The room is still that way.

Nice, i guess just having the one colour is a bit easier to get through the wife approval system.

Gamera

Hey Steve and Dan, those are lookin' good guys!!!

Ok, just signed on with ImageShack, let's see if this works....

The formating is a little different from PB but it looks ok to me. And again, sorry about the quality of the photos- some how the glass cover over the camera lens on my phone cracked and I had to take my modeling tools and chip it out. I'm going to have to see about getting it repaired.

BTW: ImageShack was running a half price sale when I signed up - less than twenty bucks US for an entire year. More than worth it to get away from the bajillion pop-up ads on PB. I wish I switched over monthes ago....

Just good to see you have pics G, i kow recent events are causeing lots of people issues.

Good to see that coming together.

Thanks Steve! Yeah, they're posting over-sized. I figured I could go ahead and post them and later reduce them as I figure out the editing functions on their website.

PS: So far I already do!!! I've got a jacked-up gaming rig and PH's billions of ads still slowed it down to a crawl. IS runs smooth as silk!

Gam, great!

When you upload pictures to the Shack resize them to 640-480 (Medium) to keep them from being way oversized on email.

PS you'll love IS.

What is that going to be Dan, an RAF display?? Oh man how cool is that!!

Bish,

Since my AB is down again for a few days while I wait for a new air valve and I can't work on the Val for now, I decided to start the Hurricane. I have a WIP/Review thread so I won't go into that much detail here but here is the start.

I started on the cockpit which is very detailed and the fit is excelent. The kit comes with a small PE set which most if it goes in the pit.

The kit also includes a very nicely detailed Merlin engine which I will be showing.

I will also be building a diorama for it with some of Airfix's 1/72 RAF ground crew figures and equipment.

Thanks Bob, i'll change the roster.

I am not sure on interiour colours, if they would have been painted the US colour or the RAF one if it was destined for them. But i am sure others will know.

Thank you Bish and no worries.

yes, still 1/48 and a Mustang-original Monogram P-51 B/C.  I'm not aware of any obvious difference between the B/C and the III other than maybe interior colors but someone please correct me if I'm wrong

Thanks

WOW man!! That's one groovy looking far out bathroom man...........:hippie:

LOL, the wife may not approve of a green/sea grey/ocean grey combo.

I did once suggest the bedroom would look nice in a tasteful splinter pattern of RLM 81/83 with some subtle mottling around the edges. But for some reason she wasn't impressed.

Great builds all-and a very diverse mix of subjects and eras-

sorry I haven't been contributing more frequently-i have been  viewing on a regular basis but failing to take the time to acknowledge the quality of your builds.

Bish-question-what are the rules for crossover builds?  If they are allowed, I'd like to stick with the Mustang but a Revell/Monogram version...If not no worries

thanks

Bob

Bish: From what I've seen PB was already going down the drain. This seems like the last cash grab before closeing the doors. Think I'm going with ImageShack but I'm still looking around...

TJ- Great looking Harrier

Fred- Love the theme of your dio. The guys look busy doing their maintenance.

Doug- That is one sleek looking flying thingie! Nice camo work. I also love using Silly Putty for masking. Like you said, on an off really easy and great for doing soft edge lines.

Still no paint on my Spitfire as of today. The wife decided to use my painting skills on the bathroom and bedroom walls so we have been been quite busy. I had forgotten what a PITA painting a bathroom can be with all the trim and many corners needing a good steady hand for a clean paint line.

Hopefully I will throw some paint on the Spitfire before the week ends.

Steve: Fantastic job there on the Tornado. Love those special schemes! Great to see her looking perfect after the issues you had.

Justin: Wow! Great job there. Esp love the 'spinning' props and the splash from the rolling bomb.

Fred: Beautiful job with the dio! I too love those B&W photos.

Doug: The camo looks perfect! I love the Silly Putty too, great stuff!

BTW: Laid down the first primer coat and sanded out a few rough spots. I'm hoping the second coat will be passable. I've been looking around at different photo hosting sites but still haven't decided on one to go with. Will have photos up when I do..... Embarrassed
