Good on you MC. I'd find that thing challenging to do in a weekend too. I completed my first helo in 30+ years a few weeks ago, an Italeri Huey, and I found it more challenging than an aircraft.
Last year for this GB I built some Andrea Miniatures 54mm figures. I think I did two, both in a wekend, over consecutive weekends. Must say I am sorely tempted to go down that road again. I'll let you know.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Lewbub,
Actualy looking at the kit it look pretty detailed for a 48 hour kit. Sorry but can I exchange it for the 1/72 Italiari OH-58A Kiowa?I won it at our contest in September and have been itching to get to it.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Modelcrazy,
Front page updated. Look forward to seeing it built.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Lewbud,
I came up with a kit to do. This one is a little more difficult than my ususal.
A 1/72 Revell T-72.
Bumpity bump bump bump!
Eagle and bufflehead, roster updated. Looking forward to your builds!
scottrc Hey Eagle, I also bought a number of those PM kits back about 10 years ago for I think $1.99. Nothing to them but wings and a fuselage, but they were excellent for practicing pre-shading and airbrushing and look nice when complete.

LOL! Exactly! There is next to nothing cockpit wise, but I'll spend a lot of time honing my AB skills and researching new and unusual camo schemes for them. They are perfect for the Weekend Madness GB for sure.
Hey Lewbud, here are my entires for the Weekend Madness GB. Many years back I bought a bunch of these PM kits from Squadron. They had them on sale for a crazy low price (like $2-$3 each). I think I might have bought each one they offered. LOL! So these have been my tradition...to do one or two of these for the Weekend Madness GB. There is not much to the kits, so I spend a little extra time with the paint schemes. Not sure how I'll do these up yet, but here they are.
Thanks Lew!
Here's my official entry: 1/35 Tamiya Ford G.P.A. Jeep
I intended to build this for last year's GB, lets see if we can do this year!

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I'll do this. 1/48 Monogram F6F Hellcat.
Lewbud......I don't know HOW I missed this, but please include me on the roster! I've been doing this GB since I joined up, and it is ALWAYS a blast! Not sure what I'll do yet. I'll let you know tonight after I get a minute to check the stash out.
Hello Lewbud,
Back in, timing uncertain, this year's victim is RoG 1/48th Spirit of St Louis
And my lo-fi offering of a badge:
Bumpity, bump, bump, bump.
Bufflehead,
Welcome aboard! Roster updated.
Count me in! I missed the one last year due to work commitments, but I should be able to free up a weekend between Thanksgiving and Xmas!
Tony,
My apologies for not seeing this earlier. I have added you to the roster, glad to have you aboard!
Count me in please Lewbud, this 'event' is one of my favorites. I'll decide on a topic in the week before it starts, who knows what will ring my bells by then :)
Sailing_DutchmanI will be building Tamiya's AMX-13 light tank.
Sailing Dutchman,
Roster updated. Looking forward to it!
Looking forward to this!

God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
May I have your attention please!
As has been the tradition the past several years, the kickoff will be Thanksgiving Day, 23 NOV 2017. I know for some of us here in the States, it's a busy time with family, but there are some without those obligations that still get a long weekend. For the rest of the world it's as good as any to start. Depending on participation, this build runs usually out of steam around Christmas. The front page has been updated. Only 58 shopping days left!
Caveman,
Building the base beforehand will be okay, as long as you don't claim it for the build.
A "what if" 109 sounds interesting. Especially the Navy one. Whichever you choose I'm sure will turn out fine.
Any objections if I build a diorama base before the GB starts? The winged subject that I am considering for round two won't make sense without it.
Mopar, caveman the roster is updated!
I've been thinking about what I might do and a couple of options have come up. One is Tamiya's classic Mini done up as a tribute to my first MINI. The second is a what if. While fondling my purchases from our local show, I opened up a Testors 1/72 Flanker and found not one, but TWO older than dirt Hasegawa FW-190 D-9s in the Divine Scale aka The One True Scale, aka 1/72. I don't normally build the losing side, but I decided to step out of the box and see if any schemes caught my eye. Didn't really see anything until I ran across a series of captured 190's. If memory serves, neither were D-9s, but I found a couple of schemes I liked. The first was just simple OD over gray. The next one (and my favorite) was based off of one that had been acquired by the Navy, and was in the tri-color blue over white scheme. Or something else might catch my eye by then.
Thread needs a bump, so...........
Lewbud I think I will start with something with wheels this year in the form of a Revell 1/25 1967 Chevelle Pro Street. As the juices start flowing I will move onto some wings for the second round.
Funny, why does this forum censor M o j o? Hmmmmmm. That's a new one for me.
Ok, I've given this much thought and I'm going to build the 1/35 Dragon Vorpanzer! J/K! Setting the bar a bit lower, I've decided to build the 1/48 Tamiya Fw-190 F8. The Tamiya 190 goes together quite well so I don't think I'll have any problems building and painting it in two days!
Scott,
I didn't know how to answer you when you posted, and still don't other than to say thank you for feeling comfortable enough here to share your troubles with us and wish you luck in the future with them. Craziness is basically what this build is about. How many people look at what is a simple concept: start and finish a model within 48 hours, as crazy? Perhaps the reasons you listed for not building the Santa Maria are the very reasons you should? Whatever you decide, we will watch with interest.
Thanks Lew,
I thought of doing the Santa Maria, since I built the Pinta in my first year participating in this GB, then I remembered, that was when I used to drink. Now that I quite drinking, and have gotten older, I am not that crazy to try to build a sailing ship in 48 hours.
