Hi Eagle,

That Tamiya FW 190 A looks absolutely brilliant and is a welcome addition to the GB. That paint job is fantastic, and well done to finishing to such a high standard mate. I have one of those in my stash and if it comes out half as good as yours id be chuffed.

Thank you sir!  It is a great kit.  you will love it....now to find me a Tamiya 109.  Whistling  LOL!

They have a couple of 109E's in your scale, they do the same subjects in mine. And they have a new all singing all dancing 109G in 48th out soon as well.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Hello everyone,

Greetings from cold and fresh Worcester, and my current progress on the FW 190-D9 after a week off from it travelling the breadth of the UK doing a thing called work. After looking at some of the pics of the Dora during my research I painted the leather trim around the IP, though dont know if it will be seen like the rest of the office when it is closed up.

I have also closed up the slight gap and mistep between the wing root and fuselage with a bit of white putty. I also attended to the rather prominent gap between the underside wing fitment to the fuselage, again putty smoothed down.

Finally, I sprayed Alclad tyre black on the wheels, previously doing the hubs with Alclad gunmetal. I think ill lightly weather these later with both the treads as well. All of the extra parts are done, landing gear, cockpit canopy, aerial and tail wheel and Ill grap a pick post weathering.

Will give the Dora a scrub down today ready for priming, and for the first time, as Ive never done this before add the spiral decal to the prop spinner. Will post again soon.

Thanks for looking in and I really appreciate the encouragement.

Best Regards

Mark

Eagle, very nice work on the 190.  Not often you see these birds finished in colours that are pre- 74/75/76. Yes

regards,

Jack

Thank you sir.  Had a time with matching times and paints.  I'd find 2 or 3 "variations" of the same bird.  Turned out alright.  :)

The first part of the RLM 70/71 upper surface camo is done. You can see the effect of preshading, and my usual practice of spraying a slightly lightened tone of the same colour into the centre of each panel. Hopefully I'll complete the camo tonight.

Cheers

Thanks bish.

I had the same problem with the the tail .I had to carefully aligne the tail makeing sure that all was straight..i glued a little at a time .then I filled and sanded with Mr.surfacer 500 (brushed on ).as it shrank i kept building it up till i was satisfied. I hope it worked out for ya.

I think i have just about got it, will see tonight when i give it anotehr coat of paint. It seemed to me as though the end of the fuselage had a rounded edge so it didn't meet the tail square on.

I've sprayed RLM 65 on the underside, using a mix of Tamiya XF-2 flat white and XF-23 Light Blue. One the French got this machine, they oversprayed the under wing crosses with green. Tamiya tell us that XF-26 Deep Green is good for WWII French camo, so I've used that. I always use new Blue Tack (for sticking posters to walls) if I choose to use it for masking. I don't want to risk it with the old, much used blob that I use every day in modelling.

I'll let this bake in a hot garage for a few hours then mask up for the upper surface colours.

Cheers

Bish

Looks nice Tony. I wasn't sure what the uh oh was for for a second lol. Was that one of those forgetful moments.

That shows the wheel well insert that disappeared up into the wing cavity somewhere.

Cheers

Tony

That wasn't good. Amazing how these parts can just dissapear into such a small space.

5-high, great work on the Dora. I am having real issues with mine on the join between the tail section and fuselage, looks like you have it nailed.
