Maybe you left the handles off so you wouldn't knock them off while painting? 

Thanks Gamera. I am also going to add fuel lines, that I should have done before paint, to the auxillary tanks which will add even more paint chips to the project. I think I am just a dumbass. Haha.

I cut out the wake using and xacto knife and make the waves by turning the base upside down and melt areas with a lighter. The ripples appear after I apply the wet strips of paper and cover them with the medium acrylic gel.

This dio won't have a "wake" per say but will have small waves and ripples. The jet spray rooster tail will be made from cotton.

Hey Steve, looking forward to seeing that water diorama.  Based on your float plane dio, you certainly know what you are doing.

Griffin, that tank is coming along well.  I know how you feel with the "bits that need to be added". I seem to always manage to get away from the build "plan", and end up doing things out of order.  Case in point, gluing the machine guns on the KV-1 before drilling them out.  Always harder on the tank.

Slowly working on the F4F, so it may be a while before I have updates, but some work on the tank may occur instead of "watching the paint dry" on the plane.  

Modelcrazy, that T-72 looks super.

Next is the top part of the interior. Not sure which colour will I use for exterior, maybe some sand colour that I have seen on photos of BTRs in Afganistan.

Making good progress. The coloring on the seats, detail of the dash and worn paint look great. 

Howdy all, as you can finally see I have been making progress on my Terminator. Things are proceeding smoothly as the Meng engineers designed the kit to basically be assembled in subassemblies. this lends to ALOT planning as to what, when and where to paint. I have not decided if I'm going to crew the vehicle or leave it buttoned up. the detail on the inside of the two hatched, ( well all of them actually), is really nice.

I plan on putting the mine detection and clearing equipment on the bow however I found no pictures yet showing this vehicle using them in action, I think they look cool and add to the bad***nes to the model. I hope these pix are easy to see, I don't have the best camera for detail pictures. I will try to answer any questions and maybe later add photos of the instruction book to help clarify things. All in all this is a fun build where even the tiny " fiddely bits" fit as advertised.

Great work on ya'lls work as well, Griffin I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished tank. More later folks. Merry Christmas

Good work so far, as for detail pics I found that a good way to take those is to put a hand magnifier in front of a phone camera:

I made my own stencil with Word and was able to cut it out pretty good with my Tamiya knife. I love that knife. The circle was made with a paper hole reinforcement sticker thing. I need to free hand a star on the blue background. Thanks for looking.

I have next week off, and the Mrs. will be out of town for a few days, so I think there will be some quality bench time coming up.  Been in a bit of a funk, but the trick for me is to just go to the bench with the thought that I will just look at what I am working on.  Inevitably, I pick something up and start working on it.

Thanks guys. ManC, I know the funk!  I got some highlighting, washes and more shading done. Got the star painted. It's pretty hard to find reference material on the Ethiopian Eritrean War. The tank is looking pretty pristine I know. I'm going to weather it later after I paint the crew. I'm not going to extreme weather it. Light weathering is my goal because I don't have that much experience in heavy weathering. Thanks for looking. 

 

Hey Griffin, that tank it looking really good.  Light weathering is probably right for the theatre this tank would be in. 

I don't like PE parts . They are too fiddly, too small (for my half a sentury old eyes), too fragile, add to the cost and when painted over make no difference, hard to handle with my trembling hands (I don't have Parkinson's, slight tremors run in the family) etc etc.

But, a man gotta do what a man gotta do, especially when the box doesn't say that there are PE parts inside, so....improvise, adapt, overcome and somehow it looks like this

Those two things beside the hull are nets that will be over the engine. Did I say I don't like PE parts (strong sarcasam, I just feel like that now

Griffin: Looks good! I know what you mean about weathering, I like to keep it light since it's so easy to go over the top. She looks just fine, a little faded like she's been sitting out in the bright African sun all day. And the star came out really well! 

CN: I know what you mean there too. I like PE engine screens but those small parts like your headlight guards give me fits. And frankly would it be too much trouble for some of the these companies to give you a few spare parts since you're pretty much certain to lose some of the smaller ones...

Hey CN, you may hate the PE, but it sure looks good on your kit.  I would say you have conquered it.  I have not had the pleasure (?) yet of working with PE.  I have seen some really great work with it, but have also read a LOT of grumbling about how hard it is to work with.
