I was just wondering; Is everyone finished with thier bombers? When I have yet to cut a single part from the sprue.

I've been trying to get on it for a couple of weeks now, but every time I turn around, something comes up. Bang Head Hopefully it will be real soon. Tomorrow,(monday) I'll try for.

Nope.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

No, I also have yet to start. I have been busy with the Russian Armor GB, but as I have finished with the building I will start on my B-25 within the next few days.

OK lads. I am back. My ISP is totally useless and after 9 days that I bought my data decided to now actually give it to me!

Anyway, Tony I put you on the roster and  PJ I changed you to the 1/72 Thud.

I had a hard time with the resin nose not fitting well, allot of filling and sanding was needed to fare it in. Then the canopy fit was poor and I had to modify this to fot aswell....then rescribe it all - so much for a quick easy build LOL

I guess thats an old Esci kit Theuns, before Italeri released it. You seem to have done a pretty good job of bringing it up to scratch. What's the purpose of the new nose, is it a correction or a conversion ?

Cheers

Tony the SAAF had a different nose than the standard F-1 nose. The thing on the bottom is a laser for the bomb computor and the IFR probe was retractable.

Here is my completed SB2C Helldiver. Three tone Navy paint scheme (my personal favorite) and there is actually a torpedoe under the plane I promise! I did the panel lines and focused my weathering efforts on the underside with a bit of oil spillage etc. Good little kit here and I didnt make any huge mistakes this time around thanks to the tips I am picking up in these forums. I have never done a base and wanted to try the actual flying look for once! Thanks for letting me join in, thanks to everyone for helping me improve by sharing and of course thanks to the GB Host!

Hey Theuns,

I’d like to add another build to the roster.  I’ve got a 1/72 scale kit from Italeri of the B-25G Mitchell medium bomber I’d like to do.  Thanks in advance for adding it!

Theuns,

Can you put me down for another build in this GB?  I’ve got a B-25G Mitchell I’d like to build, 1/72 scale, by Italeri.  Thanks in advance!

The colour the saaf used are not "out the tin" standard so I had to mix my own.

Tony I usually golss with tamiya acrylic that I apply in thin coats, I hope this humbrol works the same.

The pylons supplied in the kit  for the outer stations is incorrect for a SAAF craft so I though of building new ones from styrine sheer. Then I saw that if I just cut the kit one on the red line I can get somthing that is quite close to what I see in pix.so this is what I will do.

Jack, love the waves! I could see some nice weathering on the underside of that Helldiver too, looks terrific.

Theuns the camo is looking sharp, nice transition between colors!

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

I have begun work on my B-25. I built up and painted the inside of the fusalage. Then weathering was done with Tamiya brown panel liner and a sepia filter:

The cockpit has very little detail and no decals, I ran a pencil over the dials to highlight them:

The next thing to do is to sand off and re-scribe the raised panel lined and rivits.

I am waiting for decals for the Mirage so took thos little kit out to play with.

It will be a simple out the box build, I just added belts to the otherwize bare seat.

Pity about the sidewall detail being to soft to really give a noce look, even using my white pencil to "drybrush" still gives a "feathered" look
