I'm in the same boat as you, greentracker! Have yet to cut a single part from the sprue, and I have two different models entered in this GB. Luckily we have a lot of time left, but in all honesty, I'll probably only be able to finish 1 at the most...

Going to try to make the lead floors & bulkheads as inconspicuous as possible. Plus I'm adding some cockpit sidewall detail & the compartment for the turret.

What are they doing, crawling there by themselves. Well, at least the GB has plenty of time to run.

I have been making progress, but mostly it is just filling, sanding, and waiting for the japanese postal sevice. I could post some pics, but I think that it would be quite boring.

The post office was on strike as usual and now the backlog needs to be sorted out. I am not surprized that they will now claim overtime because they need to work harder and go on strike because they can not get paid overtime and performance bonusses.

That is unfortionately what happens in a country where the gov needs the unions as it will be elections next year.

One of the guys in our model club is from S Africa and he happened to mention the postal system. He posted something in the middle of May and a couple of days later he tracked it leaving the UK. All he knows now is that its some where in Joburg.

Well, i hope you get your decals at some point, hopefully soon.

My build moe joe took a real knock last night.

My panther was basically ready to paint, all primed and sanded. I was clumsy and knocked over the bottle of tamiya thin cement onto the table, no big deal the model was not close to it.

Apon closer look I saw a nice big blotch on the windshield where a single drop must have landed melting a fat ugly spot into the "glass" section next to the framing....not sure it can be rectified :-(

Hi Folks,

My job pulled me out of town for 6 weeks so had not made much progress on the Stuka. I have made some since I have been home though. I can say that this kit is one of the more frustrating as far as fit issues. It is coming together but I know I have less hair as a result!Bang Head

Very sorry to hear that Theuns! George, very nice work. I have not made a lot of progress on my Boston. Mostly just cleaning up parts.

PA24 - the Stuka looks great despite the delay.

Theuns, that doesn't sound great and is very unlucky. If I had a spare canopy, I'd send it.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Thanx Tnoy, I have removed the "offending" canopy, sanded it and then pollished it.

A dip in future made it less "bad" and it is now glued back. I am just going to carry on with the build so I can start concentrating on my model of the year kits for December :-)

Thanks guys for the kind words. I am getting into painting now and will get some photos up soon. Sorry for not responding earlier, for some reason I am not getting the updates to this thread lately.

I got the worst of the canopy marks sanded and pollished out to an acceptable limit. Yesterday I started to decal, went on OK....untill I noticed that the nose undercart has broken off and is missing  AARRG! the model seems cursed LOL

I will have to scratchbuild something to look like a nose strut.

After almost 3 months waiting for my decals for the F-1 I still have no joy getting them, ordering new will result in the same thing as the strike has created such a backlog that nothing is happening.

The F-9f was going well untill I broke off and lost the nose wheel strut. In the meantime I have started gluing bits together to look like a strut LOL

Hi Theuns or Bish,

I have been an observer of this forum for quite some time now and thought I would finally try and jump onboard a group build.

Would it be possible to enter in with a 1/72 Hasegawa He111 H-6? I am really excited to get started and learn from the vast experience available from this forum.

Regards
