I built this little kit some time ago and got another one to see if I can make it better by enhancing the cockpit with some creative painting.
The red colour is the inside of the doped linnen. I rebuilt a left bottom wing for a Tigermoth last year at work and found some of this red/brown linnen on the aileron bellcrank box....might even have been from WW2 :-)
I also added straps from lead foil.

On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
OK, I'm ready now. I received this from my wife today. Luckly I put the PE inside the box before I left Boise. It will probably be a couple months till I get to it though.
I'm going to do Sub-Lt Tony Beale's Ark Royal Bismark attack scheme. Beale's torpedo struck the Bismark admidships port side, which hit the torpedo belt and reportaliy did little damage.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Bish Glad to see you got your hands on it Boddy. Nice to see Kenya on the list. Well, now that the warm up acts, Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, are finished, we can all look forward to the main event in 10 days time.

10 days!?!?! Gheez. LOL! Can't wait to get it started!
goldhammer Patience grasshopper, patience. I keep seeing the end of the box under the desk, and have to keep fingers from reaching......lol, so I buried it under 3 new kits

LOL! Had to bury it. I still couldn't trust myself. LOL! I've open that kit about 5 times since it has been here....yeap, all the parts are still there. LOL!
10 days should be just about right. My wife should be shipping my Swordfish today and I should get it sometime this next week.
I got my kit in the other day for the GB. Got a good deal on eBay and I think this is going to be a great build. I had been talking to Bish about what commonwealth to do. We came up with Kenya..I wanted to do something different...so I researched their Air Force and saw the MD-500. Bish liked the idea so I pulled the trigger on the kit and I'm really excited about doing the chopper. My first! Did someone say it was May 1st SOMEWHERE?! LOL!
Rather the DH 82 for witch I built a new wing last year might have been worked on by him ;-)
WOW, you just never know, that wing might well have belonged to the aircraft you build here.
Got your entry on the roster.
Last year I built and re-covered a DH-82 left bottom wing at Germiston airfield, who knows that specific tiger might have been maitained at the same airfield 70 odd years ago....maybe even by my maternal grand father who was an aircraft carpenter /mechanic in WW2 for the SAAF :-)
Cheers Theuns, good to see you have a link with the subject. It is a pity about the Stearman.
Bish put me down for a 1/72 Airfix DH-82 please, it will be in the SAAF "Commonwealth training scheme"
They operated from Germiston airfield during WW2 and since I work at the same field it could be interesting.
Pitty the SAAF never used Stearmans, I am busy with a 1942 stearman at Germiston and it would have been quite "hostoric" :-)
Bish damouav Bish As soon as its may 1st some where in the world, you can start. After all, you know what they use to say about the sun never setting on the British Empire. Aussies and Kiwis First, again... Unless we get someone from Eastern Kiribati on board.

Works for me since my build is a Kiwi bird, and they are on the other side of the International Dateline
Will do Eric.
A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.
