Steve, Did you ever receive the brass barrels for your POW? I ordered from the same vendor and they haven't hit state side yet. 

I did, sometime while I was in Boise (I just returned to Dallas today) however, I'm still waiting for the POW coat of arms from the same seller.

I assuming they came in very recently.

Also, I'm game for a Japanese, German or Merican GB. 

I probably won't start tomorrow, but I will be pulling the KGV out and taking the plastic off the box! 

Bish, PE that small can be a bit of a challenge. 

I knew you wanted to build your Bismarck a few years from now so I will probably delay the German build till Aug 2020 and run it for 2 years. That would be after the British GB ends.

I'm leaning for a Japanese ship build starting Aug 2019 till 2021, but a Merican would work as well. I have plenty of everything. I will probably switch off between allies and axis. A Russian/Soviet ship GB would be last if there were any interest .

Sounds interesting Steve, i will deffinetly be in for the German one, especially if its a few years down the line. All my German subjects are on the larger size and going to take lots of time.

My PE turned up yesterday for both my builds, from White Ensign. 1/600 PE looks scary so thats going to be interesting.

I was thinking yesterday that next year I may add a Ships of the German, American or Japanese flag GB, which would also run for 2 years. I would like to run all 4 nantions eventually but not sure which one to start up second next year.

BISH= The monitor I chose was the Trumpeter WW2 version; used in operations "Torch", "Avalanche". and the Normandy landings.

Yeah, you can find Titanics all over the place but hardly anything else from that era. The Lusitania is nowhere to be found.  Unfortunate.

Thank you very much M/C!! Looking forward to this! Actually, because they were more or less sister ships, there are not too many external differences. The biggest ones being the air vents & deck houses.

 

I was going to build the Airfix 1/600 RMS Mauretania after I get a few others done. Looks like a nice kit. Old mold in a new box, but still nice.

DRUMs, really keen to see one of these Monitors. Is it the WW1 or WW2 ship your doing.

I decided on the HMS Roberts Monitor in 1/350.

The Roberts would be a fine addition.

I'm assuming the Trumpeter kit unless you found one I'm not aware of.

Unless you have rules not allowing someone that is 0-5 or so when it comes to GB's I would like to give it a shot. I have an Airfix 1/600 RMS Mauretania waiting and willing that I want to convert to the Lusitania.

 

No such rules, your are welcome aboard. I'm intrested in seeing the conversion. I updated the roster.

Is it August 1st yet?!  That Z-class is staring at me every day just begging to be built!

Bish has an "Aircraft or the Commonwealth" GB that it would work in just fine.

Could I do a RAAF PBY-5 Flying Boat? 

I'm thinking of the 1/48 Pro Modeler Monogram PBY in RAAF Camo and markings... it was in HMS Naval service as a U-boat sub hunter / killer, and its a boat, right?

I recently saw some markings for several variants to include "Dagwood" from 1942 with a nice camo scheme. (Crap, I'm giving away my secret).

I received The BigEd set for the POW today. I'm waiting for the barrels and wood deck and she'll be ready to start in Aug. I'm sure they'll arrive while I'm away in Boise which is fine. I don't think I'm going to use the PE crew on this one. "Panzer VS Tanks 3" on Shapeways makes some really nice 3D crew which I'm going to go with. I may repaint them and use them on the Kent.

GM, it's amazing how fast they can move. I like the Reno Air Races when I can make it.

I went to all of the races in 2013. One of the most awesome sports events I've been to. I saw a sailboat go 45 knots.

It always changes, and that's fun.

Scott, I agree about the cup race. Not as fun as when they didn't use cats.

I received the 1/700 wood deck for the POW. It looks very nice, very thin and comes with a little PE tree and anchor chain. I'm still waiting for the 1/350 deck, Big Ed set and brass barrels.

I am looking forward to your entry.  I would like to someday build a large J Class for RC.

I was a big Cup fan, but I now consider the race more an air race with the carbon airfoils and cat hulls than a race against sailboats, so I don't follow it as much.

I used a 1/700 wooden deck on an aircraft carrier, but never tried one on a battleship, so I went ahead and made an offer for one for the Warspite.  It should add some fun to the build.  

Bish is correct, New Zealand is the keeper of yachting''s Holy Grail at the moment.
