I was being polite Big Smile. I am planning on starting with the old Sm.79 and following that with the new He 111P-2. Should be interesting.

In a way, I'm  glad this has a Dec. Start date... I'm  completely  reorganizing my work area and it's going kinda slowly. Coming along though...

I haven't been very active on the forums at all for far too long. Let alone having participated in a GB. This may be just the ticket I need to get reacquainted with the group. I certainly have a few of the newer molds in my stash now that I would love to build. Chalk me up as tentative Bish.

Well, with such a great subject area, GB host, and plenty of kits in my stash to choose from, I’ll give it a go myself.

Bish,

You know I'm in. I have no idea with what. Maybe I'll get ambitious and build the MPC issue 1/24 P-51D. Don't know where I'd put it when I was done, but it would be cool. All I know is it probably won't be a plane which shall remain nameless.

Y'all, I've never participated in a group build. This would be a first for me. I had thought about Keyda's C-47/DC-3 group build, but I really need to build something that is in my stash rather than go out and buy a new kit. I'm running out of room to store these unbuilt kits, you see. Right now I have two very old Airfix kits in my stash. I have a partially assembled 1/72 scale B-29 and a 1/144 Boeing 314 kit. The B-29 is/was to commemorate my dad training as a flight engineer back in 1945. The Boeing 314 just because it's just a beautiful airplane. What I'm getting around to, Bish, is pencil me in. I just need to decide which kit to build/finish, for the group build. If I decide on the 314, it just might be a "what if" if that's OK. The B-29, hopefully, would be from the training group my dad was assigned to.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

frank, would be great to have you on board for your first GB. I was not familiar with the 314, but after just looking it up, would be great to have that in the GB but the B-29 sounds nice as well and a nice tribute to your dad. There is plenty of time and you are welcome to do both if you wish.

Hi Bish, I’m up in NC away from home for a week but can’t remember if I have an Airfix kit in the stash. I will look once I get back home.

I’m interested in the GB and will look for something to enter.

Thanks, Bish. I'm going to start with the Boeing 314. I've chosen a livery that's not included on the decals sheet in the kit. Those decals are long past yellow and are now brown! The copyright on the box is 1980, but I know the kit is much older than that. Since I have to get new decals is the build still OOB?

Start date in December 1, right?

Frank, nice one. Start date is Jan 1st but the build thread will go up at the start of Dec. The build can be OOB or as much AM as you like, including decals. I am useing AM decals on most of the ones i have planned for the GB.

You must have one, everybody has and Airfix kit in the stash if you've been in the hobby for as long as we have.

Bish, I bought the 1/72 BF-109E yesterday and was looking at the Dakota Mk.IV or the C-47 as well. Both have been on my want list for a while.

Hi,

While messing around at home last night I spotted my Airfix Autogyro model in a stack in the corner of one of my rooms.  I think this Group Build is a good excuse to build that kit Big Smile

Steve you are right! I’m still not home but remembered the old Airfix 1/72 E Boat I have tucked away in a corner of my man cave closet.

So Bish I’m in with the 1/72 E Boat kit then. I will post a picture shortly.

I’m thinking this one... but I won’t use the crew figures with it. They are the old multi pose British Infantry set and not quite right for gunners.

The original 17 Pdr release is an older kit and pretty hard to find. Airfix re issued it not too long ago, and added their multi pose figures as crew. And I am very happy to be part of this one.
