I'm In!  Even though us Yanks put you Brits in your right place a few years ago, doesn't mean we can't be friends Now!

I think I will build the 1/72 scale American flying boat from wwii (for some reason I am drawing a blank on its I'd and nickname...), and I won't be able to start until after the Pinewood derby in February...you can still count me in!

Bish,

I purchased the Dakota Mk.VI today. This will very likely be the first of what I hope will be at least three Airfix builds. I will be doing it in the BOAC camo scheme.

Bish,

It’s early for New Year resolutions, but I think I want to make 2019 my Year of Completed Builds.  The GB theme is fantastic, so how can I say no?

I don’t know what I will build (finish!!!), but there’s a LOT to choose from the stash.  The GB theme demands something British and in Gentleman’s Scale.  It would not be proper otherwise.  Okay baby steps first - a Vampire?  That kit was to me one of the first signals that Airfix was truly making a return to their former glory.

So please put me down for a Vampire T.11 in 1/72.

Bish, I need to show you these pictures. I had started the B-29 kit more than a year ago and then shelved it because I just wasn't happy with it. When I started it I was also looking for an Academy B-29 kit but I was impatient and started this kit instead. In the last week I decided to finish the airplane as a hurricane hunter because I could clean up a lot of things I don't like about the kit. As you can see from the pictures the kit is partially built. So my question is, is the kit eligible for your group build? If you determine that the kit is ineliglble for the group build I'll certainly understand and I'll press on with the Boeing Clipper when the build starts. Thanks.

That B-29 sound slike an interesting idea. I didn't realise they had hurricane hunters back then.

Bish, I was looking at that old B-29 kit on the shelf. I may build it as a Hurricane Hunter from way back when if I can find some pictures of B-29 hurricane hunters from the 1950s. I'm still gonna build the Boeing Clipper kit as a "What If" though.

Have a few 1/24's and the new 1/48 P-40.    The 1/24's include Stuka, Hurricane, 109, Spit and Mustang.  Won't be the Spit though, can't ruffle feathers on the host.Big Smile

Will leave it up to what most want to see built

I would like to join in on the Airfix build for sure please! I have planty of AF options in the stash and will make a final decision and update you when we get closer to launch. Either way please count me in.

I really love Airfix models. I have never done a 1/48 but I believe the 1/72's are the best in the game at anywhere close to the price point (sub $10 kits). Looking forward to breaking in the new year with a nice clean fitting kit for sure.

Well, I have one Airfix kit left in the stash. I've been wanting to build it up for sometime now but it keeps getting pushed to the back of the line. This is a good reason to get it out and done. Although I will likely be a late starter on it. It will be this one....

Apparently, this one is a new tool in 2013, so it should be a good kit. We shall see.
