Looks good Bsyamato! I'll get your photo posted soon as I get the chance.

The previous finished hughes is probably posted on one of old jap GB :)

This latest is just started

Ah sorry, my mistake!

So many finished builds I can't keep them straight! Embarrassed

Bruce: It's always good to have something on the 'wish list' even if you can't buy it now.

So far it's a great kit, the black parts are a rubber-like material which I wonder how they'll hold up in the long term though. Still, I'm going to paint over them so that will hopefully help them to last. And everything is snap fit. I've used some cement where I used putty but otherwise I can disassemble it if I need to.

The resistance is due to me taking 3 years to finish a tank! LOL!

I'll be following your Mech-G build closely; I thought that was a rubber like material. I look forward to seeing what you paint that material with.

I've started the motorcycle for this GB, I'll get some pictures posted once I get a little more completed.

Cliff,

Mech-G looks really cool! I really want to get one, but, I have to resist. I'll live vicariously through you! LOL

And I agree, the badge looks outstanding!

Gamera

Hey guys my friend Rock Baker mailed me the sketch last week and our Jack/Jgeratic whipped it up into final form a few days ago. Sorry, been a bit busy here but finally got around to getting it posted, so here it is. The guys really knocked it out of the park yet again!

That's a mighty fine looking badge, Gamera!

[make note to self] Got to get cracking on my build.  Got to get me that badge! Yeah

Where's that frantically running around smiley when you need one? Wink

Japanese Group Build VIII

Rules

*Start Date January 1, 2019

*End Date December 31, 2019

*Japanese subjects which I'll define as operating under the Japanese flag, aka a captured P-40 flown by a Japanese pilot would be kosher

*Cross-overs are welcome

*Pre-started are fine as long as they're under 10-20% finished (light assemby)

*Any 'roll-over' subjects from JGB VII are welcome

* No cut-off date for entry, you can enter on Dec 30 if you can build the model in a day

And most important have fun guys and gals!

Hi, Gamera! I would like to join this Group Build. I will build the Tamiya 1/32nd Mitsubishi (English: "Three Diamonds") A6M5 Model 52 Zero (Zeke)  Kit# 60318. I bought this kit from Hobby Link Japan back in mid-2018, to go along with my other 1/32nd Tamiya kits (P-51D, F4U-1A, and Spitfire Mk. VIII), and couldn't decide which to build first. Well, now I know which one I'll build first. I'll get some pictures of the unstarted kit up as soon as I renew my Fotki account (I let it lapse a few months back). What I've seen so far on the group build has been outstanding, to say the least.

Zvezda: She looks fantastic to me! As I've said before I hate trying to paint and weather orange and yellow.

I'll get you posted ASAP. My friend is about done with the drawing so hopefully the badge will be ready soon.

Zvezda, that looks really good, quite a nice job on the trainer.  Yes

I can't tell, but did you go back in lighten the panel lines?  They look decent given the overall colour of the Nanzan.

regards,

Jack

Edwin nice job on that Jap pilot.

After another work-related absence, the Nanzan project continued.

Lighter shades of the main color were sprayed thin on various panels.

A coat of Humbrol enamel matt clear was applied by brush.

Some exhaust etc stains were added with dry pastels.

Landing gear, propeller and rest of tiny bits were assembled.

I even managed to make a wire antenna from stretched sprue Big Smile

Thus this build is announced as completed.

Below you may find some pictures. The first 2 photos were shot outside with natural light.

All comments and suggestions will be more than welcomed.

Cool, good luck with the pen-knife weight loss plan!

Looking forward to seeing how they come out.

Started work on the pilot figure last weekend. Re-positioned both legs and the right arm. Put him on a weight loss program to get his lower torso slimmer. Result:

Think I’m happy enough with the result. He fits in the cockpit well enough now.  Will need to fIll the seams and surgery points, and paint him up  Hope I don't botch up the paint job! Stick out tongue

Looks good, Edwin. You won't botch it up. You got this.

Edwin

Order placed for the Modelkasten set. Fingers crossed that the seated figure will fit well in the cockpit.

Modelkasten figures got in today!

Got to work putting the seated figure together with white glue, just to see if he fits in the cockpit. It seems some surgery will be required to reposition his legs and have him lose some weight! He’s a little big for the cockpit. Surgery scheduled for this weekend.

Hope it works out. Figure looks great otherwise.

Oh, definitely use the LED. And if you are really adventurous, put a butane torch in his mouth. But I guess that will probably melt the thing.

LOL, I'm not that adventurous!!!

Actually in the movie this version of MechaG had some sort of Tesla Coil thingee in the mouth that shot lightning bolts. Doesn't sound much safer though... Indifferent

Thanks guys, I've got the MechaG's head almost done, still not sure if I want to try to stick a LED in there to light the eyes. I need to get some photos up.

And no problem Bsyamato, it's a nice simple little kit.
