Squadran is having a HUGE sale on their Squadron Signal books. I paid between $2.06-$3.63 for everyone I bought. I got 33 books for $100!!! I normally won't spend $20 each on these books, but for less than $5 each, I'm stocking up.

OK, just bought Tamiya's Ford Mutt in 1:35. Will rust it up, beat it up and break it and leave it in some field

That cracked me up to read. I'm looking forward to the winter when I can have some time to work on all these great GB's we have coming up.
This is a cool idea! I have the remnants of Monogram's 1/32 Fw-190A-8 from "the great crash." I have all the parts and have been wondering what to do with it, but haven't wanted to buy a whole set of decals. I can definitely do a wreck diorama of a plane that's been crashed and abandoned for years. Count me in.
On my bench: Academy 1/35 UH-60L Black Hawk
Ok, SB. I have you on the roster. Welcome aboard.
I canont begin to tell you guys how many crazy ideas I have for this build. I can't wait to see what we all come up with along the way.
Jeezz, sometimes I can be an idiot. I forgot BK started this thread even though I had posted on it several times.
So forgetful

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Steve I feel that way most days!

Time has arrived. I guess I need to break open the P-40 and figure out how I'm gonna make the desert crash dio. Once I get that one done I'll work on building the underwater P-40. This is a rolling GB so don't feel pressure to move at a fast pace, I have several other GB commitments too.
Good deal BK, I've been getting supplies and ideas for the Akagi so I'll start on it in a month or two.
BK,
I'll be starting the Akagi as soon as I complete the Perry and Spruance.
Oh, good deal. I've started rounding up supplies to start work on my crashed P-40. This should be fun.
Not sure if the GB is reserved for actual items or if Sci Fi is allowed.
If so and you don't mind, I'd like to add this AT-ST.
My thought is a destroyed walker. Not sure how exactly but I have some ideas.
I got it because Hobby Town is having a contest where the builder of the best in the region will receive a Bandai kit and the national, will win a trip to the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim California.
That totally fits with the theme, so go for it. And good luck with the contest.
I was invited by a guy that looked like Santa to come to the meetings at HT, but he didn't say when they were. I may be interested in attending provided I actually remember to go, which is why I always fail to show, I forget.
Thanks BK.
The meeting are at Foothills Christian Church on State Street Boise. The meeting was last night. The next one should be March 21st. I will be returning from Dallas that day.
Cool beans. Give me a bump before hand and I'll try and make it.
Started on the AT-ST. Leg blown off and collapsed.
This should be cool. I've seen these at HL and wondered if they were worth getting. This may make up my mind.
It's an outstanding kit, like all the Bandai kits I've built. You can mess it up and the fit is exceptional. It's a shame to "destroy" it.
Worked some on the AT-ST this weekend.
It will be lying the the dirt for some time, so there lots of weathering to be done.
Wow, this is really nice looking. You have definately peaked my interest in adding some of those kits to the stash. The AT-ST looks real. Very nice!
Yeah, I love these kits. You can't mess them up.
Thanks about the realism, now if I can weather it like it's been abandonded for a few years, or for whatever accounts for years in the Star Wars universe.
I added some grime weathering.
This thing will be incredible when you add the age weathering to it to show its abandoned.
I'm hoping so BK,
Here's some weathering on it.
Next I'll attach it to the base and start adding the dirt.
The walker is almost complete. Just a little more dirt and touch-up. After adding the dirt, I hose it down with hairspray. The light colored dirt was added after the hairspray.
That sure looks old and forgotten. Very nice. This will look super cool.
Brandon,
I'm done with the walker. It was a fun kit, too bad I destroyed it
Anyway, I plan on doing the Akagi wreck or the Prince of Wales wreck.
Use any of the pics you like.
It also looks like I need to clean the dust off the frame a little. The dirt extending past the frame is intentional.
Well Steve, that is very very cool. I like what you did there. I will have to give that a go also. Well done. I'll update the main page.
I'm also looking forward to the wreck of whatever, it will be epic.
