Such great work and finishes going on in here.

Bish, that looks great!!! I only hope mine turns out half that good potna.

Nick, what a spectacular job on that F-104. Just amazing work throughout.

Steve I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with that 109. You do such great work on ships that this should be a complete breeze for you.

Zvezda that's some really fancy paint work that you've done on this one and really like the diorama. I know all about time allotted to building. I'm doing a bathroom remodel and my output at the bench has been slowed.

Armor: Good work on that pit brutha.

Steve. Thankyou..

now the fun part . I've been using pigments with water more than oil wash lately. The clean up is so much better. The 262 looks great but will look fantastic with flat coat. (thats just me). Did you check out the luftwaffe camo in he new FM mag. its very interesting lol laugh in you wonder if some one is looking at this GB.

Thanks Nick, Cliff and Martin!

Got the washes on and went with a friends advice and applied a light colored wash on the bottom and worked my way to darker washes on the sides and then darker for the topside.

YOxCQU.jpg

and then I applied the dull coat over the entire aircraft. Got some subtle weathering, soot signatures from the guns and some silvering to do around the edges of the access panels and the painting/ weathering process will be done. Then it's off to landing gear, canopy and finishing bits.....

After a last inspection, this build is completed.

Even though I did not have the time to be a properly active Group Builder, I wish to thank everyone participating for the inspiration with their beautiful builds, I am amazed from the quality of works in here. Herr Willy would be proud.

Thanks to you also Bish for another magnificent GB. If it's OK with you, please use this pic.

The 109 is on her feet. I finished up the canopy. Hopefully a few more fiddly bits to add and I'm in the home stretch:

Thanks for the comments you guys.

Zvezda: Outstanding craftsmanship and a great turn out on that build of yours.

Cliff: Good to see her on her legs!!! Looking great man!

All: Been a bit since I've been in here. Lots going on at the house these days. LOTS!!!

This will most likely be my last update till I post the finishing shots of her which aint all that far away. Still got the canopy to paint and install, gun bay doors to display opened up, aerial antenna and last little detail parts to install. Like you Cliff.....she's on her feet now....

Sorry guys, my backs been killing me, haven't been online or modeling. It's much better now, hopefully I'll get the 109 done this weekend.

And big thanks!!!

Joe: Look the look of the 262, always a good feeling to see the model on her own feet!

Steve: Very nice start there!

Cliff: Sorry to hear about your back issues bro. Hope you continue to get better. Looking forward to progress on that 109.

Steve: Looks like you're off to a good start. Say.....that isn't 1/350 scale is it? Stick out tongue

Thanks Joe! I'm fine now. Weedeating kills my back, I think it's all the stooping over. Maybe I need one with a longer reach so I don't have to bend as much.

The 109 has it's initial base paint on. I'll spray the white wingtips and rudder' a little more touch up and I'll do a little weathering before clear coating it.

Thanks guys. It is my first 109 in about 20 years.

I'll take that back, I did an Avia S-199 IDF a few years back.
