A_A. Beautiful 109.
Nick.
Nice looking buld there AA, she came out well. I like what you did with the scheme, thats a nice marking option.
Thanks for taking part, front page duly updated.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

First -nice work by everybody-great builds.
Finally getting started. The kit is the old 1/48 Hasegawa BF109E-4/E-7 'Jabo' (JT series). Still it goes together well and looks like a 109 so it fits my needs.
I've got some cleanup before priming-the wing/fuselage fit didn't look that bad when I took the picture...
Bob
Nice to see you underway Bob. There does look like a bit of a gap in that wing.
Nice work there Bob, the cockpit is looking good and also good to see her almost ready for paint.

Personally I'm still sitting here about 99% done. I put some pastels on for the soot streaks off the engine and not sure I like them. Still debating scrubbing them off and redoing them or just maybe reinforcing them with more pastel.
The staining works for me.
Hi Bish, hoping to join the group build with a 1:144 Armory Bf109E.
I like the staining. I think it looks like oil streaks from the motor. Put a light dusting of gray over that with your airbrush and you'll have effective looking exhaust soot.

UnwaryPaladin Hi Bish, hoping to join the group build with a 1:144 Armory Bf109E.
Now thats going to be interesting. I'll get you on the roster.
That's going to be a little fella

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Nice work Gamera-great job on the weathering/finish. Will be going back thru the post to see how you got to where you are.
I worked on the wing/fuselage fit-looks better (I hope)-used Tamiya spray can grey primer.
Picked a camo scheme so I sprayed the Vallejo yellow-will be interesting to see if it holds once I tape it off for the rest of the paint. Also got the canopy masked-took the easy route and used Eduard masks-well worth the price.
Bob: She's coming along really well! And those Eduard canopy masks are worth their weight in gold. I don't know how I got along without them.
Paladin: Wow, yeah she's going to be tiny!
And thanks guys! Still fiddling around with the soot stains.
Good to see the paint going on Bob. I agree about Eduard masks, those cheaper vinyl ones are nothing but a PITA in my experiance.
On Ed's bench, ???
Ed: Sorry I STILL haven't gotten to it. Between several guys leaving on vacation/holiday I've been working crazy hours, the heat and humidity I've been coming home from work and just collapsing on the sofa, and several other things that's I've been working on I haven't gotten back to her...
Making progress...not happy about the yellow fuselage stripe...changed my mind about which plane to build and it required a wider stripe....slight difference in coverage but I'm hoping I can 'weather it out'...if it were armor, I could just add mud....anyway, happy about the camo scheme overall-camo target is on the Lego stand-hope to get a gloss coat (Future) on tomorrow and then decals early next week.
Nice work there Bob, i do like the yellow markings on German aircraft.
Thank you Bish-yes, the yellow markings do set them apart.
Love the yellow markings- great job there Bob! I love the mottling too!
Thank Gamera.
Decals on-at least the 'major' ones-from a Ministry of Small Aircraft Production sheet-nice selection of options but the decals themselves are very thick-think old Tamiya thick-or thicker. They have received a heavy Solveset bath-hopefully that will help. Another coat of Future should take care of any silvering. Other markings/stencils will come from the Hasegawa kit sheet.
Bobbaily- Your 109 is looking great. I like the markings and the paint job is super.
plasticjunkie Thanks guys. some more pictures with better lighting
Thanks guys. some more pictures with better lighting
Just catching up to this now... Awesome, PJ. I love the detail and coloration. Top shelf. Congrats.
Thats looking nice, unusual markings for a 109, i am guessing a ground attack unit. Looks good.
That is a great use of Legos, I wish that I would have thought of ityears ago when my son was in his Lego phase.
TJS
That looks fantastic Bob! I know what you mean about those annoying thick decals, okay on a smooth surface but they won't lie down over any detail.
And I like the mottling on the lamp or whatever that is behind your 109!
Okay think I'm done here. Thanks Bish for hosting this, it's been fun!!!
Reusing a base but finished up a new figure.
Grumble looks like there's some dust on the model. Ah well I'll go ahead and post these photos...
Wow, great job Gam! Love the paint and the figure is awesome
Thanks Steve! Nice to get one notched and done- can hardly believe it's taken me nine months to finish one little one-oh-nine!
