Gamera, i like Hava Go Jo.
The RAAF GB starts on the 31st March. But i am sure you can find plenty to do until then.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Sorry for the delays in the pics. Got busy at work. Here are some pics from the past couple of days. I should be done with it today! Enjoy!
Both sets of my decals came in. Still not sure which one I'm going to use.
I didn't notice that LostAgain wasn't starting the RAAF GB until March 1st so I'm going to halt work here until then.

Nick: Oh cool, she's starting to really look like a jet liner now!
Frank: What parts are you missing? I can check my spare parts box, not sure I'd have what you need but you never know.
Looks like your getting to grips with the Wellesley John. Its looks like hard plastic just from the pictures.
Coming on nicely there Nick.
fotofrank Well, since the Hasegawa Spitfire Mk VIII has moved out to the paint bench, I was going to start the ARII Mk VIII. The kit only cost me a dollar at a show. I shoulda looked in the box first. Some vital parts are missing. Oh well. On to the next kit.

I know that feeling frank. guess it could come in handy for spares.
Eagle90. its a good kit, but with mine had some trouble with the prop.
John. looks good so far. You got the bull by the horns now !
Foto Frank.looks real good from here.
My latest pics closed up more seams and the fueling things? on the underside waiting on other RAF decals for this hold off on primering for now.
Nick.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
John: Nice work. The cut stabs came out really well.
A few more steps on the Wellesley, some filling of wing seams with Aves Epoxyclay, and the elevators have been separated from the stabilizers, reset at a down angle, and installed on the fuselage. Epoxyclay was used to smooth out and shape the stabilizer/elevator hinge line. This kit is made out of very hard plastic, thread was not equal to cutting the tailplanes apart, had to use the JLC saw and an Exacto knife on these.

Frank & John: Those are both coming along great!!!
I've made a minor start on the Wellesley. The wheel wells were opened up and boxed in, I plan a little more refinement in that area but this is where it is now. The wings have been glued together and mounted to their respective fuselage halves, and the cockpit floor has been glued to one side and trapped between the fuselage sides so it will cure in the correct position. As you may note there are some gap issues to deal with at the lower wing joins.
I have ordered a vacform canopy set to replace the kit parts, partly because they are rather thick and also because they made their way to the floor where I subsequently stepped on them and damaged both pilot and gunner positions. As we say in R/C flying, gravity sucks. Progress will be impeded while I wait for the canopy to get here from NZ, and I'm still waiting for the resin Pegasus engine.
Closer to paint. The Mk VIII is just about ready for primer. There's a few detail pieces that need to be prepared like the propeller and landing gear then it's off to the paint bench. Later the temp will be in the mid-70's, a good time to paint.
Very cool Bobby. Built a Hobbycraft SF years and years ago. As I remember the fit was pretty good if the detail was a little sparse. Nice work!!!
Thats going togfether nicely Bobby, i have never tried one of their kits.
And here are the first progress pics. So far a pretty nice kit. Fit is not bad, a couple of places needed a little work but nothing major. Cockpit is not overly detailed...but you can't see much when you get it together. The panel lines look to be nice and crisp so a dark dirt wash from Flory's will really make the build pop. Here ya go. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! Great work so far. Loving the builds! I just finished the Secret Santa GB and was deciding if I should start Bish's Supermarine or Mess. GB first. LOL! Decided to go with the Supermarine. Here is my entry. Progress pics coming soon. Going to do the Royal Navy version. I think I have the right paints for that scheme. LOL!
Nick, that looks big even in that scale. Nice work.
Nick: That looks good, nice work!!!
Jack: Well, I hope they're at least reasonably accurate. I'm going to try to pre-shade so it should throw off the light/dark ratio of the paints some.
up dated pics of VC-10 after miss matched alinement pins LOL.. sanding, rescribing and putty in clean up stage oh and more test fit did more test fitting on this kit theen any other build still haven't done windsheild yet.
The Vallejo RAF set is probably a bit more accurate than MiG - the latter have lightened their paints in order to achieve 'scale effect'.
Even if you are a follower of this notion, the problem is decals are printed as 'pure' colours, that is 1:1 scale. So the decals and MiG paints combination result in a higher contrast than normal. This isn't a problem for some that like that sort of look.
regards,
Jack
harold, i know the green and brown are correct. Its the underside colour i am not to sure of. I am pretty certain that Sky Type S and Duck Egg blue are the same colour.
Is this an accurate group of colors for the Spitfire Mk-II?

Harold: I buy the pre-cut canopy masks because I friggin' hate cutting them myself. As Jay said the kit probably already has them.
The paint's up to you. I haven't painted a RAF bird in years so I figured buying some new paint was probably a good idea. They were in the sets so I just went ahead and bought them that way instead of single bottles.
Sergeant Hi Cliff, it looks like you are doing a Spitfire too? Do I need spacial paint and masks for my Eduard Spitfire Mk-II? If so is it the same set you have in the picture above? Harold

Harold,
Looks like you already have the masks from looking at the pic in your post. They're in the zip-loc bag. The Eduard Profipack kits usually come with masks and PE.
Jay
Gamera Paints and masks are here: I've got most of the cockpit done. Not Lawdog quality but good enough considering the tiny cockpit hole:
