Getting the external stores laid on:
The Phantom got a little love the other day. Decals look good but I have my fingers crossed that they hold up.
On Ed's bench, ???
PawelBTW, would an Israeli Kfir C2 qualify here?
I was not able to find any reference to this aircraft used in Gulf War operations, but if you have any documentation of its use then it would be in.

Of course, all grays with a big SP on the tail. I'm all set with some HARM missiles also. I just made a dent in it so I'm off to a start.
Armor - cool lookin' tank, those reactive armor modules sure give it a lot of character!
68GT - oh, it's areal classic, the paint scheme will be different than SEA, right?
Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Starting on the 1/72 F-4G by Italeri. Looks like all the parts are there except for some missiles so I'll have to research load outs.
That is a sweet ride, can't wait to see the weathering process.
Assembly of the tank is completed and decals applied; still have to finish the crew figures, external stores, and weathering:
Looking good AA!
Alright, tracks are mounted and the upper and lower hull have been mated together. Next up is adding the turret:
Thanks, all!
Tal Afar DaveShe's a beaut!! What did you use for the metal finish tail surfaces?? Trying to learn from those around the forum.... Thanks, TAD
For the tail/exhaust surfaces, I first spryaed the area in black with a gloss coat, then covered the area in Vallejo Metal Air 'Jet Exhaust'. While that was still wet, I lightly sprayed Vallejo Model Air 'Dark Aluminum' around the edges, and on the flat surfaces. When that was finished, I sprayed all the "higher" surfaces with Vallejo Model Air 'Aluminum'. When that was all dry, I darkened certain areas with Tamiya Smoke to give it the dirty/burtn metal look.

2022 New Year's Resolution: Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!! Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge??? Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!

On the bench:
Wow, that is really nice looking! I cannot wait to see the results of the next bench session...
Glamdring Justin, looks good! Love the pilot's helmet for that splash of color.
Justin, looks good! Love the pilot's helmet for that splash of color.
Thanks! It was a risk, but I'm pleased with how it turned out!
Now, prepare yourselves for a photo dump! I was able to put in quite a bit of bench time this weekend, getting the main construction completed, the belly tank and sidewinder pylons mounted under wing. Primed in black, using Mr Surfacer 1500 from a rattle can, I started the black basing mottling, and three hours later, finally completed that!
I applied the base grey Saturday night and Sunday morning, I applied the second grey and clear coat to prep for weathering and decals.
I was inspired to try a little something to accentuate the raised panel lines of this old kit, by lightly dragging a 1000 grit sanding sponge across them in the direction of airflow. I'm pleased with the worn effect it achieved!
I completed my weekend build session with getting the armament started...
AA - Looking sharp, those tracks look good. Rubber banks I assume?
Latest progress on the M-60A1; repainted it because I wasn't satisfied with the color, got the turret and commander's cupola done, working on painting the tracks right now so I can get them mounted:
Whitey, that thing is gorgeous!
I have finally had a little *** rising, thanks to the Plastic Posse Tie Fighter group build on facebook, its kick-started my *** flow a bit. I did a little more work to my Eagle, getting a few more seams sanded, putting down the primary primer coat, and finished painting the driver!
I will now let it sit in primer until the weekend...
Whitey, that Viking looks great!
You bet JBRaider, welcome aboard!
Some really nice builds going on and a very impressive figure.
The mail came yesterday with some Opertion Granby decals for my Hasegawa 1/72 Jaguar. I would like to join in on this one Robert.
The S-3 (and other Navy aircraft of the time period, A-6, EA-6B) used plastic laminate tape (both colored and clear) along its leading edges and nose radome to protect from wear. Over time this stuff would yellow, discolor, wear away...and just generally get nasty. Removing it and replacing it was a real PiTA job!I masked and painted the leading edges with Tamiya XF-88 dark yellow, and then lightly sanded it in various places.
I apologize for my lack of updates! I am well into the painting stage at this point...The Paragon wingfold set attached pretty nicely...as long as you cut as they instruct. I faired them into place with Miliput.

Thank you very much for your kind words, gentlemen! They mean a lot to me!
Pawel - Brilliant work on that! Most impressive!
Thanks for joining and sharing your work.

HOLY WOW!
-It's Omar, but they call me "O".
He looks fantastic Pawel! Man I wish I could paint figures and not make them look like a stick figure.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
